How to increase voltage (HID)
HI I have a GC8 impreza and I have a little problem on My HID system. OK My HID kit already have a relay kit that connect to the battery and I also ground the negative wire to the chassic. And I still have the problem to start up the bulbs. Everytime I have to run the car for 5-6min before I turn on the light, but still is a 50/50 chance. It will do one eye thing or even not on. (Notes: There is no problem after I turn on the light) So I think is the voltage problem. Do you guy know how to increase the voltage.
Oh I have the brightstar H4 kit Thank you

Either there is something wrong with your wiring that is causing a voltage drop when the lights are turned on, which is when HIDs draw a very high current, or you have defective components.
The fuse has nothing to do with it as long as they are not blowing when you turn on the lights. The rating of the fuse in the OEM circuit is actually no longer important if you are using a relay to power the lights from the battery, since the current that powers the lights is no longer coming from that circuit. It's only being used to switch the relay on and off. Connect a voltmeter directly to the power connections at the ballasts, and observe the readings when you turn the lights on. If the voltage dips way down below 12V it indicates that your wiring is inadequate somewhere, trace it back and find where the drop is taking place. |

you should get a wiring harness from hidplace.com
the harness connects directly to your battery and only uses the headlight harness for signal to turn on. because of this, I believe you can even leave your DRL on...won't dim the lights, they'll just be on all the time if you want. Its still all plug and play. One end goes to the battery, one goes to your headlight harness and one to the HID modules. I think they're like $55 + shipping |
