Default Will an EcuTek flash pass emissions in NY?

Will an EcuTek tune pass emissions (OBDII wise) in New York State?

The "most likely" part scares me, I need to know 100%.

To pass in NY with the OBDII inspection, there must be no codes stored (not just a suppressed CEL), and all the readiness tests must be complete. This may involve not just the reflash but other mods as well, for instance if you have an electrical CEL fix it will interfere with the readiness tests while the mechanical fix will not.
I suggest you pose this question to whomever did your reflash. You can also find a local member with a scanner and check it yourself to see if it meets the conditions for inspection.

Thanks for the reply. Would the Computer Serial number effect the OBDII result (this is an 05 STi and I remember there was something about a serial number on it)?

Another question is: does NYS check the CVN checksum? If it does then you'll fail because it changes as a result of the reflash whereas the CIN and VIN do not.

Call your tuner first.
and then call a local inspection station, one that you do not go to, and tell them your friend told you that it'd be ok, but you think he's wrong.

Also if you have an 05 it does not get scanned for the first two years. Those inspections will be safety only.
