brightstar hid kit
i was looking through hid kits for my morettes, and remember reading brightstar had a cheap kit on here a while back...
then I came across this http://www.recall-warnings.com/auto-content-15419.html anyone have the kits have this problem with glare? So I have been looking at the hids4u kit and the xtec kit since they have 5 year and lifetime warranties, respectively. ANyone have either, and know where I can get it for cheap? dan

That glare is just caused by putting any HID kit into something (ie. halogen reflector/projector housings) that is not specifically made to use HIDs. Modifying the halogen headlights, mostly projectors, are one way to 'kind of' get around this glare problem. Also, when it comes to HIDs, you end up getting what you pay for. I've read too many horror stories of people trying to go with the cheapest HID kits they could find (usually the ones bought over ebay). Just something to think about.

Well
What type of lumens can I expect with a decent HID kit? I have morette projetors in my bugeye now. I have the osram cheater 65w bulbs that are 2100 lumens according to the daniel stern website. The HID I am considering are 3200 lumens and 4k lumens. However I have seen some that are 26/2800 lumens. What will it take to notice a big difference between my 2100 lumen osrams and HIDs? Will 2800 be a big enough difference? 3200?

Check out the HID sticky at the top of this forum as it has a lot of links and resources that can answer all your HID questions. Plus, check out HIDplanet.com. There is a ton of information on that site.

pretty much there is a linear realation. higher color temperature (K value) = more color = lower lumen |
