Default Foglight Bulb

I know the yellowstars and narva golds have been discussed before, but are any of these driving lights or just fog lights? I am looking for a pair of bulbs for my fogs that will act as driving lights instead of the wide, but short fog beam.

Thanks

It's not the bulbs that make the lights fogs or driving lights, it's the housings themselves. If you have one and want the other you need to buy new lights, not just new bulbs.

Then which bulbs will give the stock fogs the longest distance?

Narva Golds are the best according to Daniel Stern who is the Richard Petty of Lighting.

Werd. Daniel Stern is t3h man. The only "problem" with Narva Golds is that they're not the easiest to get/order. Other than that, they're reputed to be the best.

[however, upgrading the lamps themselves will provide better results, espically if you don't want to run heavy duty wiring for higher wattage bulbs]

I have the Narva Golds. I got them on ebay. There is a seller on there that sells them all the time. Got my Osram Silverstars from the same dude.

At any rate, I wish the stock fogs would shoot out farther. I mean while I'm pleased with the color of the Narva's in the dry, when it rains, they dont seem to work too well. I can be driving down a road in the rain and when I turn the fog lights on or off, there seems to be NO difference. I still can't see the lines in the road from the fogs. I tried aiming them higher but doesnt help much.

Read somewhere of someone opening the housing and removing the cap that covers the foglight which makes the light rebound back to spread the light.

maybe you should have gotten yellowstars

i dont know i have yellowstars in my headlights, and i am thankfull they are noticable during the rain...afterall they are all-weather bulbs. i also have them in my hella 500's and those give even more light during bad weather.....may the narvas are not the right color of yellow?
