Default AP- diagnose my problem

Need your help.

Here's the basics. Let me know if you need any more info.

I've been running the AP stage 2 for about 6 months.
At first I was hitting 14.5 max boost( so as far as I know I never hit target) , but recently I started hitting only 13.5 . THe 13.5 psi I am getting will taper off to 13psi after a little bit. THose #s were checked by my boost gauge AND the AP live boost read.
Here's what I've done already:
1. I reset the ECU - no dice
2. Loaded the HWG map - no change
3. Downloaded the newest version of the stg2 map (v.1.22) and flashed the ECU again(base map)- no results
4. Loaded the HWG map again and still 13-13.5psi

My mods are :
-TXS TBE + Prodrive axleback
-K&N filter
-Removed silencer
-Grounding mod

I know I have a leak, but it is by the midpipe, so I don't think that will affect boost in any way.
I don't have an uppipe, aftermarket BOV or 3/16" mod
I've checked the COBB forums but found nothing.
I am running out of options here.
Does anyone have an idea what might be causing it, or do I need to troubleshoot anything else.

Thanx in advance.
Desi

Have you tried adjusting your wastegate arm? I can't remember if you adjust the wastegate arm clockwise or counter-clockwise, but if you give it three turns, it should keep the wastegate closed, thus keeping better boost.

It's not too tough to do. I did it a few months ago to a friends car 'cuz he was complaining about the same situation. I wanna say 2 or 3 full turns(either 720 or 1080 degrees) one way or the other, and it worked great. Just can't remember which way it was...

BTW, it's not tough at all. Just remove the C-clip(kinda tough to do without a pick). Make sure not to lose it, either. Lift the wastegate arm, give it a few turns and put it back on and install the C-clip. Go out and test drive(preferably with another person, 1 to drive, 1 to check boost in 3rd and 4th). Shoot, if you were local, I'd help you out...Good luck with it. Seriously, it's not tough.

I did it. VERY simple.
I did 3 half turns=480 degs. Now I am hitting close to 15psi.
I will do another 2 half turns (360 degs) in the morning and hopefully that will cure my problem.

Ok.
After a total of 3 full turns (1080 degs) I am now hitting peak and steady 15.5 psi.
THe car runs very smooth and the power delivery is very steady and nice. No spikes as of yet, but I will continue to monitor the boost very closely over the next week or two.

THank you very much finnRex for pointing me in the right direction and Unabomber for the explanations in the thread that finnRex linked me to.

Woah, stop for a minute.

Just adjusting the wastegate won't fix your problem if you WERE hitting target boost.

99.9% of the time, especially after a TBE install, the IC hoses and rubber adapters are NOT installed correctly, and not torqued down properly.

Sure you are getting better boost now, but at the expense of more turbo shaft speed... which could be dangerous in the long run.

Just a heads up man! Something you might want to go over carefully, yo!

Thanx for the heads up.
The thing is that I never hit target boost for the AP. The most I got was 14.3-.5. Lately it got down to 13.5-.9 and not holding it (dropping down to 13psi)
The last time my intercooler was off was when I replaced my clutch and there was no immediate difference after that, so my guess is that there was no leak caused at that time.
I will double check the connections or rather have someone with more knoledge check them for me to ensure proper seal.
Thanx
Desi
