Smile UTEC with Octane 98

Hi,
I am from Singapore and thinking of using utec for my wrx.

Here we have high octane fuel of 98, if I buy the utec

a. does it come with any map ?
b. cann we request for stage 1, 2 , 3 and 4 map
c. since the map for all the stages is Octane 93,
will I have problem running this map with Oct 98 fuel?
d. What is the parameters that i need to modify to
run on Oct 98 fuel?
e. If I am using stock ecu and run STI injectors, will
it cause any problems?

Thks

You could probably run a 93 octane map with 98 octane and not have any problems. If you really get 98 octane, you could probably up the boost a bit, add some timing, and remove some fuel to take advantage of the higher octane. From what I hear though, there's a difference between 98 octane in the states and what many people get in other places when they think they're getting 98 octane. Ie- in places like europe the 98 could mean 98ron(from what I hear) which is kinda if not totally equivolent to the 93 octane we use in the states, not the what 98 octane would be in the states. If you're getting 98 ron, there would deginately be much optimitation available(timing advance, more boost, and leaner a/f ratio) before you start running into problems.

peace

You will need a different UTEC than we get in the USA....there is an Australian version that will work with your car, I believe....the USA one won't, I don't think.

contact TXS, australia...and ask them

98 asian gas = 94 USA gas.
When you order from a vendor, they should be able to get whatever map you want pre-loaded when they get their shipments from TXS

Hi Guys,

Thks for the reply...some more questions

1. how many maps we get when we buy a brand new utec?
2. is the remote map selector included in the package?
3. can we do the map switching when car is on the move?
4. is the UTEC running on 16 or 32 bit?
5. if ruunng stock ecu with STI injectors, is there any problem?
6. does the utec has any dyno chart that can be generated?
