Default Looking at a 2001 2.5 RS

Hey Everyone,

Ive come across a 2001 2.5 RS 4 door with 113000, and was wondering if there is anything I should be watching out for. I heard that the timing belt needs to be replaced around 100ks but other then that the car runs great and looks to be in great shape. Going to be my first car ever and was just hoping to get a little input on it.

Thanks for any help you guys may be able to give me

Cheers

Chris

Find out if the head gasket has had any issues. It is very common for them to blow possibly resulting in more problems. Make sure the seller isn't selling due to over-heating issues most likely related to the head gasket.

I think you're right there. I remember reading somewhere that the DOHC 2.5L in the MY 98RS had H/G failure problems.

Some 99-01 had some problems with headgaskets but it was wasn't like the 98's. The 2001's didn't really have any common major known problem.
