Question EGT's????????????????

Please excuse my newbie ignorance once again but what the hell is an EGT?!?!?!? I asume it can be a bad thing and it has to do with turbo engines, right? If you want to explain it in an e-mail mine is onebaddak59@aol.com

exhaust gas temperature. if they get too high it means you are running too lean and can kill your engine.
