I think I'm going to pick up a MKII VW (hopefully a Jetta with the ECOdiesel) for my next car to get back and forth to work.

Well, I thought I had posted it here before, but I guess not. Many of these where owned at the same time as others, I now keep the vehicles down to 4 at a time. This doesn’t include the bikes. I don’t recommend this to anyone as it’s VERY rare you get any of the money back you have spent…I just have an illness, but I am getting better …

Here we go in roughly chronological order:
Porsche 944 Turbo - I bought from a family member, then it was decided for me this was NOT a good first car. Since I had bought it with my own money (started working at 14), I got the money from the sale.

Triumph Spitfire – See, I bought something reliable.

VW Scirocco –S MK1(added a Callaway Turbo Later)

280Z (my First Z)

65 Pontiac GTO

72 Olds 442

Opel GT (heaviest Small car I have ever seen)

Subaru DL10 (with Off-road Package …look it up, it is for real)

73 Camaro 350

Mazda RX4 Savannah (looked like a mini Mad Max)

Datsun B210, bright green with purple windows...I got this via marriage.

75 Pontiac grand Prix 400 FJ fast back (also by marriage). This car was lost when she fell asleep at the wheel, but I swear more damage was done to the forest she drove through than the car. Talk about a tank.

Toyota Levin GT-S 2TG 100E (didn't realize how few of these were actually made and sold it for a bargain)

VW Rabbit GTI

84 Nissan Hardbody 4X4 (off-road edition)

Mazda RX7

MGB GT

Jeep Chief (with a 455, that thing could climb anything)

Mazda RX3 SP

Honda Accord

69 VW Baja Bug

70 240z

61 TR3

Honda Civic Si

69 VW Karmman Ghia convertible

89 Subaru RX Turbo

87 Buick Grand National (I wish it was a GNX)

Suzuki Swift GTi

Toyota Cressida (how many remember this car?)

Mercury Capri (German Model)

300ZX Turbo

Fiero GT V6

Triumph TR6

67 Buick Skylark Convertible

BMW 325i

VW GTI

Mercury Capri (US V8 Model)

Toyota Corolla SR-5

Geo Storm GSI

MB 450SL (what a piece of junk this car was)

280Z

Hyundia Sonata (though I would Give them try, sold it after the 3rd power window went out)

Toyota Tocoma

Dodge Omni GLH

Hurst Olds (last of the Olds V8)

Camaro Z28 (with Mullet option deleted)

Jeep Grand Cherokee (the most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned. 325K miles with no issues...ever)

Mazda 626 GT

Supra Turbo (No, not that Supra Turbo)

Dodge Shelby Daytona Turbo

Honda Accord

73 240Z (the Famous SR)

86 Datsun 280ZX Turbo (bought it to put the motor in the 72, but drove it for a while for fun)

72 240Z (bought all of them within 2 days of each other)

Integra Type-R

77 Chevy Silverado (with a 4 bolt main LS9 Motor)

Dodge Shelby CSX (another car I sold too cheaply)

Buick Regal SLP GS – Might be my last American made car unless they show me things have changed. It goes very well…but only in a straight line, and don’t ask it to stop quickly more than once.

Nissan Armada

350Z

Sebring Miata (before Sebring became Jackson Racing)

F250

G35

Factory Five Challenge

Panoz GT WC

B13 Sentra SE-R

I might have missed a couple that either didn’t make an impression, or I didn’t keep them long. Heck some on the list I only kept a few weeks. yes, I know...but I'm getting help. Some of these were also bought when I use to purchase cars to resale while in college. It actaully worked out pretty well since the area I lived in had a higher resale for certain types than other places only 3-5 hours away. In truth, I have kept the last batch of vehicles longer than any before (except the Jeep). Notice that their are no exotics or vettes on the list. I think I need to change that.

I'll play...

Age: 38

19XX Chevy Blazer (2.8L, 4x4) My parents bought me this car when I turned 16...shame I destroyed my knees and had a cast on my right leg. Dad took it over as his car and we sold it after not too long...for more than parents paid for, woot! The dude who bought it was the spitting image of Vanilla Ice (showed up in a BMW, spiked frosted hair, two tone jean overall shorts). Bad ass.

1972 MG Midget (British Racing Green of course) Another gift from the parents and the perfect car for a high school kid. It required constant upkeep, wasn't fast in any way, and looked great. I kept it for years and eventually sold it to a dude that did a 100% restoration. I wouldn't own another...too damn small.

1989 Honda Accord (LXi, 5 speed) My parents bought it brand new, I bought it from them, and drove it into the ground...sold it with 300K+ miles for around $1500 to an ex-girlfriend. That car was a dream and NEVER let me down. Everything was still working when I sold it. Had a minor/major AC issue, had to replace CV boots 2x, replaced clutch once...and that was it. That car was a trooper.

2000 2.5RS (coupe) I bought it brand new and modified the hell out of it. Sadly I was t-boned crossing an intersection (my fault) and the car was never the same. Sold it to some ricer for $5K. I still miss it sometimes.

1987 GL-10 (all the bells and whistles) Bought for $500 and attempted to make it awesome. Failed. Sold to junkyard. Fun car to tinker with though.

1987 Dodge Dakota (3.8L, 5 speed, RWD) Crap gas mileage and for some reason it was near invisible to other cars (people loved to try to merge into me). I loved this truck...just the right blend of power/utility/cheap to run. Sadly some idiot kids tossed a smoke bomb into it while it was parked at work...the whole interior went up in flames. I wish I still had it.

1990 Acura Integra (GS, 2 door) Best car for "basic fun" I've ever owned. Not heavily modified but did quite a bit. The car served me very well for many years but died due to cooling issues. Oddly enough it's still sitting in my driveway waiting for the tow company to take it to the junkyard. I'll be happy/sad to see it go.

1997 Pontiac Bonneville (aka "The Excitement") I HATED THIS CAR but needed something cheap rapidly. Just about everything that could be wrong with it was wrong (bad brakes, no AC, cracked hose to heater core, steering column detaching, stereo barely functional, paint shot, leather interior shot, tranny iffy). The engine was very sound though and it was damn comfortable. Junked that piece of **** and got $301 from the Pick 'n Pull. Woo hoo!

2012 Mazdaspeed 3 (Current) I love this car...love love it. It doesn't have the "cool" of the 2.5RS nor the easy wrenching of the Integra but it more than makes up for it with performance and functionality.

1. 1991 Toyota Corolla (used with 30k+miles). Possible the most reliable but most hatefully pitiful car to ever have wheels.

2. 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS sedan silverthorn metallic(new!). A few mods here & there also responsible for me getting into this joint. Still miss it. Totalled after hitting a deeper than expected puddle & spun into a concrete divider. Fun to drive. Fun to look at. All around a winner.

3. 2002 B15 Sentra SE-R(new). Never has ****ty rear suspension been more obvious in a car. Until I actually jacked up the car & looked I honestly thought it was using a wooden bar connecting the rear wheels to the car with hope & dreams for suspension. Decent power though surprising much faster stock than the RS. Too bad it sucked. Traded it within 2 years for a fairly disheartening amount for...

4. 2004 Mazda RX-8(new). SO MUCH FUN. SO LITTLE POWER. Best sounding engine under $100k but lack of power & mpg & some fairly ridiculous upkeep costs led me to trade it in back in 2010 for number 5... Also I was one of the few to have their engine replaced under warranty with 75000+ miles on the odo. Also had a weird electrical bug that set off my passenger side air bag while i was parking at work. Blew my right ear drum & Mazda sent some techs from Japan to fiddle with it for about a month while i had a rental POS ford escort. They discovered no conclusive cause the airbag deployment but repaired it for no charge after a whole month of trying to recreate the conditions.

5. 2010 Mazda 3s GT(new). God it's nice to have a car with every option box checked & still be super affordable! Decent mileage but coming from the RX-8 everything short of the Lamborghini catalog would be 'decent' mileage. This is the first car Ive owned to have auto moving headlights, gps, powered & heated leather seats, bluetooth connectivity, push button start, LED tail lights, etc.

I owned a Mini Cooper S in my S2000 a few years ago.... Short-shifted to 2nd just to give him a little false hope and then pulled 2 car lengths on him in about that many seconds when I hit VTACH, in a school zone of course.

Welllllll yes. But a couple were "modern" for the time. Only a couple And only the Bonneville was a TRUE pile. The rest were at least engaging and functional.

Modified when no parts were available for them. It didn't take long to get bored and move on.

2000 Nissan Sentra

1973 Dodge Power wagon. 318/360 Aerohead perf heads. Rebuilt 4-speed...........
I sunk so much time and money into this truck.
Replace everything. I really had fun working on it. Now some one uses it for a trash truck. One highly modified trash truck

2002 WRX current 56k I am the original owner. My wife just piddles to work and back 3mi each way. I have to burn the carbon out every once in a while.

2000 Dodge Ram. Cummins Diesel, 5-speed.
My new project truck. It doesn't really need anything just general maintenance.
