hmmm interesting proposition. My friend and I were discussing this earlier this week. He traded his AP for a Utec and he's starting to think that he shouldnt have. We all have the same car... CGM 05 WRX. To me, the StreetTuner has more options than the Utec. Utec is around 700? AP+StreetTuner you can find for about 800-1000 depending on if you get used or new. I have heard that the StreetTuner is a mix between the Utec and the EcuTek. Any input? Utec is user tunable but is a piggyback so its limited and the EcuTec is not user tunable but its a reflash so it has more power over programming. StreetTuner is alot like EcuTec, its a reflash, but also user tunable like the UTEC...

I m not saying that one is better than another or one can produce more power than the other. All EM has its advantages and disadvantages. To each their own.

If I were you, I would plunk the cash for the Street Tuner. I just recently had the chance to choose between an AP and a UTEC and I chose AP because when I decide I'm not happy with just the AP and decide to buy Street Tuner (or wait for Pro Tuner and have it professionally done...), not only can I change as much, if not more than the UTEC - but I can reflash it right on the spot and be done with it.

I was apprehensive at first about buying the AP because of its limited support for ancillary mods such as TMIC's/FMIC's, different turbos than the VF30/34's etc, but with the advent of Street Tuner/Pro Tuner, I'm totally content. Not only can I tune it myself, but I can choose to have it professionally done in the near future, and then reflash it whenever I want. It is (in my opinion) the best of all worlds.

How many shops will tune for the new ST though?
I am having trouble finding a shop that will do it...

I'm not sure, especially in Pa, I'm REALLY not sure, haha.

I would contact Cobb, maybe they have specifically "certified" places that work with it, I'm not sure. I would contact them though.

I don't have it and therefore haven't really looked around to see the availability of getting it tuned. Sorry!
