Thumbs up Installed a Tial wastegate

This morning I swapped the Deltagate wastegate out and installed a Tial wastegate. For those folks running higher boost levels I highly recommend you make this change. They are available from Shiv Pathak www.vishnuperformance.com

Some background .. my RS is equipped with a Minnam/Vishnu T3/4 turbo running a 3" turbo down pipe and exhaust. Max boost is 10 psi. The tranny is a 4EAT. The electronics are controlled with a TEC II.

With the Tial installed the spool up is much quicker and the boost is rock steady. No spikes or weird boost creep. Smack the throttle and the boost gage snaps to attention ... 10 psi right now!!

If you are running more than 7 psi and you are using a Deltagate please look into the Tial .. it is a direct bolt in swap. You will be doing yourself a favor.
Ok ok ... they are not cheap .... $300 will probably put it on your doorstep.

IMHO the Tial is worth every penny ...

Agreed, absolutely ! I've been running mine for a couple weeks now and have been delighted with the quicker boost response. I actually got some wheelspin over a rise in the road in third gear at about 60 mph yesterday !

Exclamation Could this be the ticket

If this is the real deal could a group buy be in order for these units? Being just about everyone of us with an aftermarket kit was supplied with a Deltagate Wastegate. Sounds like a great idea to me anyhow....who else?

Just searching around I did find some other sources for these that run about $250 +shipping, FYI. Not to take the sale away from Shiv, just FWIW.

Default I vent to the Atmosphere

It isn't too loud it makes the car sound like a real rally car. Rallispec mabe my 3 inch downpipe that vents atmosphereiclly. i have been experiencing boost spike in fifth gear while running 12psi. i will be switching to a Trial wastegate soon. What size are you running?

thanks,
Greg

well the thing is that the deltas spring "gets stuck" sometimes and it'll make your boost spike very high. A freind of mine actually returned it to have it rebuilt and it came back to him with the same porblem. I've used a tial 40mm on my honda and now using the 35 mm on my RS-T . it vents to the air and it sounds GREAT .

If no one wants to sell me their old wastegate, I'll be willing to go in on a group buy in a month.

So, where were they found for $250? I've been quoted $300, and I need it NOW!
Thanks,
Kevin

SWEET!

Tial 35mm wastegate - $225

http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclturbos.htm

Damn. Well since they start at 5psi, I will end up waiting to get mine until I get a stable setup running.

If anyone finds it cheaper, please let us know. If you buy from this place, please let us know how it went. This is a very sweet deal.
