Default Access to a sandblaster in/around Calgary?

Hello fellow Calgarians,

I just bought a set of OZ Chrono Evolutions with Avon mtech 500's on them for my red 97 outback sport. (And what a deal! $1420cnd mounted, balanced, and shipped, with lugs and center caps from tirerack!)

The problem, is that my drum brakes look like big circular chunks of rust and will be quite visible behind my nice new rims. I want to clean them up and paint them with some heat resistant paint. This doesn't really seem feasible to attempt with sandpaper, so I was hoping to get my hands on a sandblaster.

I expect a shop is gonna charge me some rediculous amount of money to do it for me (or even to use their sandblaster), so I was hoping to find someone that could help me out in exchange for a few beers or some nominal fee. And if nobody has access to a sandblaster, does anyone at least have experience with renting them?

Thanks in advance,
Doobie

Just send 'em to my mother-in-law. She's pretty abrasive.

Wagons rule, man. You'll see after my swap.

Ok, let's call this a bump and let's put this thread back on topic. I am kind of curious to see what our friend can come up with here.. My rear drums are starting to look pretty rusty too (noticed that when I finally ditched the winter steelies a few weeks ago)

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I've got a girl I work with looking into the rental option, I will post back here if/when I get her response. As for the dremel idea, that would work, if I had one.. maybe a wire brush on a drill?

Keep those ideas coming

P.S. Wagons rule!
