Yup, it's there. I think it looks nice, yeah. Can I justify $60K(I think I saw $59,950 on the tag, unless it changed since last week). No.

Here are my thoughts (so if these conflict w/ yours, I apologize)

Stripes on an STi = ugly.
And also ESX's vision and taste of this Signature STi is plain weird and ugly.

Trying to copy WR1/ WR Version/Prodrive / but will never get close to.

It maybe dealer warrantied but No Thanks..

Even that thing is selling for $1K above invoice + cost of used parts to make it like that + accetable tuning fees.... I still would not buy it. The styling is the problem and obviously the price.

If only Cobb was to work w/ Subaru for this signature limited ver of STi.

I told him already..
But it's his choice I guess...

But if he isn't doing anything else weird to the car then it's still acceptable IMHO.

But yeah.. I've been persuading him not to..

Jeez, $60K? If I had that much cash I'd just buy an STi and use the money I'd save to soup it up.

I agree with most your opinion except the Cobb part. The ESX is ugly and not worth the money. 60k!?!? Geez that is outragous! It has 92 miles I had only 6 on my STi when I got it. I can see that one sitting on the showroom floor for a while, I guess they think the have a Ford GT on lot or something.

Not that I'm all for Cobb,

But from what I learnt before, Cobb worked w/ Huffines making somekind of Cobb Edition GC8 before.

And from I saw from pics before, their upgrades and styling were pretty good and very nimble and performance oriented.

So what your saying is that (If I understand you correctly)"Cobb could have done a better job at building a limited car"?

I'm pretty sure that you're talking about Conebasher, which was cool, but not all Cobb's doing nor was it a Special Edition.

Hes not talking about conebasher(which really wasnt all that impressive except for on paper anyway) Cobb used to slightly modify cars that were then sold at huffines.

i'll say it again... w/ a $30k premium on top of an STi I could spend 10k, have a car that probably had 100 more horsepower, handle better and still have 20k left over as my "Waranty", and not have to look at that ugly interior that looks like it would bleed if it got wet at all...

just say no...

I like the stripe treatment, but I think the interior is too "red" for my tastes.

$60K is a lot of money for that car or any car; way out of my price range, but some lucky & well-heeled person will snatch it up. It's a turnkey car; all the work has already been done to it; just write the big check & drive away....

Maybe Mika can arrange some kind of special employee discount for himself -- go for it!

Of course, you could argue that about getting a stock WRX over a stock STi and just modding the hell out of it in the first place, couldn't you?

P.S. - Go Mavs.

yeah, but your 15k in that instance wouldn't come close to paying for DCCD, 6 Speed, Brakes, upgraded driveshafts, 2.5l and then mods on top of that...

I'm not defending the car, but everything that you just mentioned (except DCCD) has been replaced/upgraded too. In that $60K cost (cough!), there is some labor time, but the car's got 425 horsepower without significant strain on the engine or transmission, which would be hard for anyone to do who doesn't own a garage. Not justifying it, just playing devil's advocate.

Yeah, pay a premium for parts and labor on top of the cost of the car. And don't even get your stock parts back in trade, even though you paid for them on the invoice.

Never, EVER have aftermarket parts put on a new car at the dealership. Or demand all the stock parts back when they get done.
