Default EGT probe and Tuner Pro setup

I received and installed my Tuner Pro and the TurboXS EGT last this weekend. However the EGT only came with instructions on using it with the DTEC. The instructions show a cal 1 input, cal 1 output, cal 2 input and a cal 2 output in the DTEC software. And the EGT probe had a card that had those values on it. So if I had a DTEC I would be all set. However, I have a Tuner Pro... and the only thing I see in the Tuner Pro setup is scale factors for a 0 volt value and a 5 volt value. Am I missing a menu where I can put in those cal values? Is there a way to convert those values from the cal card to 0 volt and 5 volt values? HELP!!!

Any word on this? Does the TurboXS EGT Probe easily connect to the Tuner Pro?

I thought the Tuner Pro supported only a wideband A/F sensor and a knock sensor. A type K thermocouple (EGT sensor) would need some kind of amplifier to connect to the Tuner Pro because its output is measured in millivolts.

The tuner pro has 2 extra analog and 2 extra digital inputs. Our EGT probe has the required hardware built into its harness to allow you to use it with a tuner pro. The only other thing you need is a mini 4 pin to standard 4-pin adaptor. If you mention that you are going to use the EGT probe with the tuner pro at the time of the order we will include this at no charge.

nathan, is there a webpage or other information available regarding that EGT probe w/hardware? ie price, features, availability, etc?

If you want to convert it, just plot the line and find the 0 and 5v intercepts.
They've given you two points on the probe's calibration chart, and since it's (basically) linear, it's just basic algebra to find the two points that the Tuner expects.

Find the slope and the Y-intercept to get the function T = V*s + b (temp = volts times slope + intercept). b is your 0v value, and plug in 5v for V to get the 5v value.

Nice! Also, what considerations need to be taken when setting the scale factors with the TurboXS EGT probe when used with the Tuna Pro, if any? Is there any documentation on the TurboXS website?

Also, what are the important dimensions of your EGT probe, thread pitch, diameter.. etc? ie, standard manifold tapping tools needed?

I'd like to do as little thinking as possible with this whole EGT mess

Thanks!
-Eric-

EDIT:
lol, missed this. Is serendipity a TurboXSer also? Does the below quote fully explain what I need to do with the scaling factors?

lol, no, I don't work there. Just a happy customer. I'm using their EGT probe in a DTEC. Since the EGT probe's calibration is linear, you should be able to just extrapolate from the calibration values they give you to what the values are at 0 and 5v. The sensor won't actually be accurate up at 5v, but that will end up corresponding to a huge temp that you'd never actually reach. The Tuna just needs to know how to convert the voltages it will see to a point on that line.

I do know that the cal inputs are temperatures and the outputs are voltages (in millivolts) though.
