Default I-speed/Crawford<< No luck, source for Hybrid pistons???

Any other sources for pistons? I would need a non standard STI 2.5 piston, to correct the compression. I was going to go with the crawford pistons, but 3+weeks ago when I called I was told 1 1/2 weeks and today there is still no word. Now I-speed is apparently at the rally till the 9th, so it appears I am screwed. (thanks guys )

Does anyone else know of a source for pistons that I can get the compression I need?

*guy from axis calling is CP for me. WIsh me luck

Have you tried calling TWE ? They have a fairly wide selection of pistons.

Anyone can buy blanks from JE or Arias. The trick is finding someone like Axis or TWE or Cobb that will dish them to your spec. And to get that done generally takes some time and getting in line. 3 weeks is nothing in the world of tuner shops. My Porsche shop specializes in racing gearboxes and our waiting list is currently 5-6 weeks. And if one box gets delayed for whatever reason, it can push back other customers a week to 2 weeks...

And I deal with shops everyday that are gone racing for a week at a time. Would you rather deal with a shop that bench races and just designs on CAD and never actually participates in motorsports, where the true test of a product lies?

Was looking at 8.1-1 Now lookling at 8.4ish-1 Not bad, better than straight sti pistons/wrx heads(which yeilds 8.6-1)

Am getting Axis built motor now. Ordered, built, shipping
I feel bad because I already promised ispeed/crawford the busines, but I need the motor ASAP, at this point its already coming late, if I wait till tuesday for ispeed to HOPEFULLY have and ship my pistons, that puts me anotehr 3 days out.

I am also happier having the motor built by someone that has done a TON of them, as opposed to a dealership that has done, well, ONE.

I have to fire off an email to Ispeed tomorrow telling them not to bother with the pistons (there is a waiting list from what I understand anyway, so they will sell fast) now...

i don't get it dave. if i get a built block,i'm bumping up to 9.0:1 compression so i don't have to have the turbo spooling ASAP.

at 9.0-1 compression you are going to basically need race gas mixed in all the time or you will have detonation problems...
