Question How do I convince my wife to consider this new fangled 'ru?

My wife dislikes every Subie she's ever seen... except she saw a pic in a Drive mag and thought it looked okay.

Help me get her to reeeaally go for it!

Whats she driving now.???
Preach the safety....Crash ratings....etc....the take her to the dealer and have her drive it....(She will fall in love with it..mine did)...Value for the money....and enough room for everything including the sink..overall...I give it a 8.7..

Yep, let her see one in person. Fit, finish and utility are awesome. The front looks much better in person that the pics. I was very impressed with it.

If your local dealer hasn't already gotten at least one...the rest start shipping in the next 2 weeks....

I told my wife that it has TWO back seats! That's good for a lotta lovin...

The advice about making her sit in it is spot on. The interior is awesome in person. In fact, so is the exterior. My wife was cold on the idea before the LA Auto Show Subaru Tribeca event, but once she saw it in person, she was totally into it and started basically referring to it as our next car. Unfortunetely, there will be a little delay on me getting one as money is a bit tight right now (damn kitchen remodels!!)...

She drives a 2003 Accord coupe V6. She's looking at the following:
TSX
G35 sedan
Lexus 330 (SUV thingie)
Honda Pilot

She's not sure what she wants... but I would like AWD, some pep, and safety.

I'll ditto Opie's comments!
It's much better to see one up close. fit and finish are amazing. Interior is just phenominal, on par with lexus styling and comfort.

All of the options she's looking are very comparable to the Tribeca. Just let her test drive one. She'll love it.

Yeah, you have to see it in person. I saw it for the first time today and the front end is 1000% unique and absolutely fabulous!

Well, I brought it up again this weekend at a horse race while we were standing next to a Benz SUV and a convertable. She said she doesn't want a Subaru. She's one of those people who don't like the "feel" of owning a Subaru.

We'll have to see.

Hey man, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm still not crazy about the back end of the B9, but the rest of the car looks great to me. I think I know where she's coming from. Is she one of those types that needs to stick with a brand name? My wife, before we got married, wouldn't even look at a subaru. The same goes with me. I wasn't about to even give it a thought. But when I saw the WRX commercials, I decided to stop by the Subie dealership down the block and I fell in love. We are in the market now to buy a SUV, but my wife can't get her eyes off the MDX. The MDX is out of our price range so I keep telling her to check out the Subaru B9 or the Forester...but she is so reluctant. Then I make the point about the pricing and the safety factor, and she starts to let her guard down just a little.

I feel your pain bro. Just keep pressing her. She'll cave in. Good luck...wish me luck too. B9 is out in few weeks...

The posterior of the B9 is my favorite part.

lol to get my mom to just test drive a Subaru was pure hell...

I had to Yap for 3 months until she finally broke in..

And after that she was sold, First was the 98 Forester L.. Now it;s the 2003 Forester XS, and now she's thinking about the legacy..

Yeah my mom gave me the same message, "Subaru does not Excite me" Or "It looks ugly"

If you can just get her to test drive it...

It was so hard for me I made a list of 50 reasons to get a Subaru Forster, Most of it was about saftey.

Then the last thing I did was, I had a Subaru Logo Keychain made, and I placed it inside of the 1991 Nissan Maxima she had and well not long after that we sold the Nissan.

Still have that keychain btw .

She wont look at the Legacy GT... I think partially because I tried to talk it up to her.

I think the main obstacle is all the time she's spent in my WRX. Let's face it. The interior is unrefined compared to her loaded Accord, her dad's TL, or her sister's A4. The ride is stiff, and a little unforgiving. And she finds hood scoops to be hideous.

lol for the hood scoop issue, lol me and my mom got into a little tiff, When she said

"Did you see the Legacy's hood scoop? people must of complained about it being too large like the STi"

lol I'm telling her it's always been like that.

Anyways man just keep trying, took me like 5-6 months of really pushing, it was really draining, I'm not going to lie about that.

i was part of the development team for the tribeca, first we were going to call it B9X tribeca, but saab didn't like the "X" part of the name and made SIA take off the X..
now just the B9..

but the front end was going to have the instead of the horizontal grill. it was going to have the cross hatch pattern like this: XXXXXX

so i think we made lots of refinements... also the first prototype had color matching handles too.. but i like the crome..

the difference between the lexus, nissan, and BMW, is the tribeca brakes, accellerates, and handles better, and the inside is about the same for all models except the nissan (low quality) iMHO..

well just test drive one and you will see.. it is awesome driving intown and on hwgs..

i drove one for about 500 miles on our test track and hit the brakes hard after every lap, basic durability testing but it was fun.

the MP3 player is nice..

enjoy, and buy it.... my job depends on it !!!

aaargh ... teh LGT is not the same as the WRX; much more refined, smoother, less prominent hood scoop
