We are handling freaks here on the suspension forum. We care what makes the car handle better, not about looks - not many show-car people here.

S-Techs are Tein's "Style Master" springs. They're about bling, not corner carving. The Impreza's strut suspension geometry does not respond well to excessive lowering.

For a great handling STi, the best spring choices are: JDM STi Pinks, Prodrive, Espelir GT, Tanabe GF210. None of them lower the car a lot.

And, don't forget stiffer swaybars.

http://www.tein.com/ti/s66.html - click on the middle pic to make it bigger - it's just laughably low.

I don't care how cool you think that car looks, lowering an Impreza that much does horrible things to the suspension geometry. And, you will be hitting the bump stops all the time because you will have no suspension travel. Just say no.

Lowering is stupid as hell IMO. I don't understand why people want to run on the bumpstops all the time. Strange...I am looking to get either the JDM pinks or Crucial Racing springs...both are the same rate but Crucial lowers the front more than the pinks. I have not made up my mind but I don't want to lower the car much at all....I just want better springs and mounts.

Swift lowering springs lower the front 23mm and 20mm rear (actual) and are affordable, not to mention come from a reputable motorsport spring manufacture. Rates are 258/217 also,... Dont forget about those.

Hey Guys,

I just put tanabe df210's on my STi. Car sits lower and rides better than stock. Less bounce/bobbing. Car is daily driver and I don't auto-x.

I believe he asked which springs will get rid of his wheel gap not how everyone feels about how stupid it is to lower your car. If your looking for a better drop then the S-techs with a nice feel still try the Cobb sport springs
This here is from another forum (jdm addict posted this)

will 1.7 inch in the front be enough to hide the ugly wheel gap in the front?

No, well it depends on if you want it close to the fender or not. Cobb is the lowest spring out there i believe and i still have a descen gap in the front but i think it looks good. If you want to lose the gap and ride comfort go coilover
