Default Used S2K or Used STI?

Just wanted to get some ideas before I go wasting my money. I already own a '02 Impreza TS and always loved the WRX and STI. Next summer I'm thinking of either buying a S2K for summer and keep my TS as winter car, or sell my TS and buy a used STI.

Of course the STI is a much better choice because I wont waste tons of money.... but the thrill of a convertible and owning my past dream car (S2K) is too hard to pass up...

Any opinions?

Well that pretty much up to you on what you want, hard to take opinions on that. But when I was looking at a car I wanted something fun to drive and something I could drive all year round as I didnt want to insure 2 vehicles. Also the summers are so short here that I didnt want a car that would be sitting around in the garage lots. So I chose the wrx (before the sti's where in canada). My summer toy is my sportbike........ (alot cheaper having it then a second summer car)

Either way you go I think you will be happy

i really like teh s2k as well and the STI is a great car. but its a daily driver for summer or winter the STI might be more handy. 4 drs and a trunk vs 2 dr and no trunk or a small one. if its for fun got S2K if its for daily driver STI

I'd get the STi hands down over the S2K. WAY more practical and with the money you save from not having two cars you could use for a few mods. STi has WAY better performance enhancement potential. For just $2500 you could do a turbo back and reflash ECU and get 60-70 ft/lbs of torque TO THE WHEELS! You have a good sized trunk, four seats and they are a blast to drive. You have power all over the power band instead of just decent HP when you rev the crap out of it. I'm not saying the S2K wouldn't be very fun but having owned convertibles I find them to outlive their toplessness very quickly. Just my opinion, in the end it is your call, would you regreat not buying the S2K if you bought the STi...

Ask yourself this question: what is your current dream car? If it still is an S2K, you will always regret never having bought one (trust me). If it is the STi, then your choice is obvious. If it is neither, buy the car that will make you the happiest.

I quite honestly think you'll find a used STi for cheaper than you'll find a comparablely used S2K.

In addition, a stock STi is faster than a stock S2K, and the modding potential goes hands down to the STi.

I would take the STi, but I know that I'm probably being biased.
