04 Fog Light Issue
I don't know why I keep having this problem with my fog lights. About every other week I have to change the bulbs in my fog lights, the left or the right bulb will blow never both of them just one at a time. I'll change one and the a day or two later the other will blow. Don't understand why its doing it and wondering if anyone has seen this problem before. I use factory spec bulbs everytime and I install them properly, ie not touch the bulb and seal the light properly. Any suggestions would be great also wondering if anyone knows if the warranty will take care of this problem.

AP stage 2 and HKS turbo Timer, I don't think they are the problem, not sure why they would cause a problem with the bulbs blowing but u do never know. I also have a set of springs not sure if the bulbs are blowing ie when I hit a pothole? Not sure whats going on, it just happens alot and is a pain.

Wow, never heard of this one before...
Do you have your headlamps/foglamps turned on when you're starting the car? |

Other than corrosion at the fog light connectors (not likly in a new car) I would suspect a fault in the fog light switch or relay. The relay is located in the relay bank directly to the right of the passenger compartment fuses.

no, starting the car with the lights on give them only aout 10 volts and drastically reduces the life of the bulbs. just turn off you lights and see if that changes anything.
p.s. there is no reason to be a smart a$$ when someone is just trying to help. <mumbles> Joe |

If you still want some type of drls, then hook up your fog lights to the parking lights and just turn those on when ever you drive. let em know if you need a link. i think there is still one on compact car magazine online somewhere. good luck either way. if still do take it over to the dealer, have them check the alternator. if it is putting out to much voltage the same symptoms would occure as this causes the bulbs to burn hotter which causes the filament turn "fall apart" quicker. this is also what happens when you start the car with the lights on, but instead its more like turning the bulb on and off several times a second. I had the same problem, and the problem was that i kept replacing it with a 100 watt h3 instead of a 55 watt h3. make sure your replacing it with the 55watt. the 55watt h3 doesnt have a nipple.
