Default Will my car pass california emissions with only one cat? (downpipe)

im selling my car and dont want the new owner to get nabbed for my doings....

i have a stock gutted uppipe and a stock gutted "3rd cat", but the stock downpipe with the cat intact

If your cats are gutted but still in place you should pass the visual inspection. Make sure your car is warmed up before they stick the sniffer in. You may even want to put some 103 unleaded in to help as well. If you have more specific questions try the SCIC forum.

Just to be on the safe side, I would pick up a used OEM downpipe and just swap it in, i'm pretty sure you could find one locally for pretty cheap.

his original post states that he has an OEM DP with the cat intact.

i would search the so-cal regional forum. should be TONS of info there on passing smog in CA.
