Default ASR Turbo Kits

Well I have been looking very hard at a turbo kits and the ASR kits both stage I and II seem failry priced, the stage II has all the ectronics, and a Spearco Intercooler for 3700, they say 240 at the wheels (9psi) VS. 96 stock ( on a 4 wheel Dyno ) so My question is has anyone installed one of these kits on there RS? I have a 2001 RS Sedan. Were there any fitment problems? How is their service? Any help would be great, and please don't waste your time and mine by saying " do a search" Thanx!

I went down and helped "Jimmy" put his kit in and the quality and fit seemed quite good. For further details though I would pm him.

Thumbs down

Regarding service, see the thread started by ASR under Vendor Classifieds entitled, interestingly enough, "Turbo Kits Complete!!!"

The very first posts start out pretty cheery, then later...

Check out Kartboy's Impreza movie in the gallery forum. He has the ASR kit and it sounds mean.

Oh yeah his car is a MY99

Well, the owner of ASR, Alan, has had his Subey Repoed. I doubt he can afford to buy any parts right now. The whole ASR turbo kit debate has been beat to death. If you go to the link above, you'll see just how reliable this vendor has been. UPRD is currently developing a kit. They are a few months from production. JC Sports is good, if you are a local to them. Shiv is supposed to have something in the works at Vishnu. Research this subject until you are blue in the face. Don't just find out who's kits are good, you also should buy some books on turbos. You will need to understand how these suckers work all by yourself, after the turbo is installed. Good luck,
Kevin
