Default WRX to STi swap (no, not that guy)

I know theres another thread on this section with the same topic but I was wondering if I could swap a USDM STi engine (block/heads/pistons/etc..) into my 2004 WRX. Would I need an STi clutch/flywheel? Could I keep my RC engineering 650cc injectors? Would I need to buy fuel rails? Could I just put the STi block with WRX heads? and it will bolt up?

Please let me know as I am REALLY interested in this and have the money in hand. Is it worth it? I know I'd have a lot more torque down low, but would I be able to make the high HP that other STi's are making? Next on the list is a set of RA gears.

How much HP would you estimate that I could make if I swap the STi motor in?

Mod list:

Mitsubishi TD05H-18G
RC Engineering 650cc injectors (on my WRX) would I need fuel rails for these to fit on the STi motor?
Walbro 255lph pump
HKS up pipe
HKS down pipe
HKS catback
HKS ssqv
TurboXS fmic
TurboXS utec
TurboXS shorty intake

-alan

PS for those who will suggest to go with another route, I am simply doing this because I'm getting this WHOLE swap done by Subaru for ~500 dollars. COMPLETE ENGINE..

Will I have to get a different throttle body? Isnt the STi throttle by wire or somethign like that? With the new engine I'd have TGV's? (w/e that is) and will I be able to make more power on this engine more reliably than my 2.0?

thanks..

I'd let this thread die out.. but are you kidding me? if you're gonna post something PLEASE think about what you're saying.

with my setup right now i'm reaching 300+ hp... with this setup i'm hoping to get way more than that. its an STi engine for crying out loud.

My friend with an STi was at 290whp with just turbo back, shorty intake, and fmic. My turbo (TD05H-18G) will blow a VF39 out of the water so imagine my setup on the same engine.. please think about what you say before you post.

Dude, ***..

You came on here asking for informaion and you knock on someone who gives it to you. 300 awhp is not a fib, granted it maybe like 320 awhp. power at the wheels and power at the crank are two different things, noob

Eleventy billion hp. There you go. Is that what you want to hear?

If you want the truth listen to linux>windows. If you run C16 you will get better numbers, but I'd say 320 is a pretty good estimate for pump gas. How about you spend the money, dyno tune the car, and prove us wrong. I'd be happy to see that.

First off you asked second off I don't care if you have a corvette engine I stated an obvious and real number. You talk all that crap and saying that your massive TD05-18G is going to outflow the VF39. Did you happen to think about head gaskets or better yet your internals? How about the cats in your application or are you removing those? What about an MSD ignition installed?

Before you come barking at the big dogs get a tune and run it on pump gas then let me know what you got!!

If you think your car is special with pixy dust gas and Paul Walker driving skills then prove it BUILD it yourself and don't pay someone to build it for you!!!

I see you claiming 601whp on a 2004 WRX so why are you comming here asking ignorant questions. You should know already know if you really have a WRX with that much hp!!

haha, you guys make me laugh..

first off.. IM TALKING A COMPLETE STi swap (minus the intake manifold). I essentially haev an STi motor, so why would I be making near stock (tbe, fmic, intake) STi numbers?

I'm not starting a fight (especially over the internet ) about what a car can/cant do. When I get my car back, I will dyno tune it and provide you guys with the HP.

I dont understand why you are saying "MAYBE 300whp" when I can make that NOW with my 2.0? I'm finding it hard to believe that with the STi motor I'd only be able to squeeze out an extra 20 ponies.

enlighten me.

Seriously, your post confuses me

Since when are headgaskets a concern with this type of set-up? MSD ignition? I am not saying your 300whp remark is far off because i would guess about that mabey 15-20whp more but the rest of what you are saying is confusing..

I would say 315-320 on pump gas, close to mid 3's on c16..

Ok I see it as more of a 40~50hp gain. I see people posting stock numbers for an STi about 250~260awhp. Now take into account the mods your saying I would believe that is a pretty decent GUESStimation. Maybe means maybe 300 maybe a tad more, maybe a tad less. We won't really know till you get it together and slap it on a dyno and run it. Cronic the reason I brought up headgaskets is due to the fact it will affect how much boost he can run and the MSD well that was stupid my bad. If you think I am wrong prove me wrong I will be more than willing to say that I was wrong. I have had to eat my words more than once on here. I just believe that with the current set-up you are talking about running that its a pretty good GUESStimation. I didn't set it in stone nor did I say I SWEAR BY ALL THAT IS TUNING HOLY. You asked for opinions and I gave mine. There was no reason to blast me for a simple guess!
