Default UT: Ogden/SLC area meet

hey. im trying to plan a meet for september 3rd or 4th. it wouldn't be anything too big, just a BBQ and lunch, then a drive. if we're in ogden, the drive route is all planned out, i know the perfect road. but if anyone has any ideas or comments feel free to leave a message.
Thanks,
Greg

Not to put a damper on things, but I am in the middle of talks with the Miller Motor Sports Park about a Subaru Track day for Sept 4th. It may be delayed to the 18th of Sept if the weather continues this ugly path its currently on and construction is delayed further. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.

If you want to put on the list for email information about the track day, let me know at justin@cobbtuning.com and I will email you as soon as we have a set date and pricing information.

that track day sounds tight. i'd be down for that too. the meet doesn't really need to be that weekend or anything, it can be moved. but where is Miller Motor Sports Park? (i just moved to utah so i don't know where stuff is)

The Miller Motorsports Park will be in Tooele once they finish it. Tooele is about 25 minutes west of downtown Salt Lake.

Here's the website: www.millermotorsportspark.com

Yay for meets!!! I'm wondering if we'll end up having the same turn-out we had before? With this much future planning involved, and the hopefully already drawn-out route, I think we'll have a great meet.

Anybody have any of those Motorola Talk-abouts? We could have a couple people staggered throughout the group who know the route, and if/when we get some heat, we can radio it throughout the group. I think would cut down on the confusion involved with such a huge group.

Call Cobb Tuning and set up an appointment, I think the rate is about $120 an hour. 801-713-0035 is their number.

Try closer to $200 an hour Dyno plus tech ($120 plus $79/hr) hmmmm, better make it worth it.

You don't call Cobb for the dyno, either. It's done through Modern Garage (they're next door). I was quoted $120 per hour, so I was about ready to go tune, then I realized my car is slow, and won't make much power without boost.

How about this summer? Or in the next couple weeks? We should really get together again. Let's have the route already planned (maybe we can make a map of the route), grab a couple walkie-talkies, and find a day when Mother Nature wants to make us actually believe we're in Salt Lake, rather than Seattle.

How about Sunday, the 22nd? I think this would work best because the following weekend is Memorial Day, and unless you're a loser like me, you won't be in town.

I know it's only a week of planning, but I'll check the extended forecast (not like that's going to help), and if anyone has any suggestions for good drives in the late Spring/ Early Summer, let me know.

Well, there you go. Please give your input.

Thanks,

David

Thanks for proving my point.

My appologies Moder Garage's number is 801-262-4605. I did talk to Trey but they are partner companies, so it doesn't matter who you talk to you will get the same information.

Hey, how long does it take to tune a car? I know this is a rather ambigous question, but I am probably going to buy a STi from the east coast with a larger than stock turbo GT-35R I belive and it has a ecutek tuned stock ecu. So it's pre-tuned, but I am concerned about the altitude difference, does anyone have any idea what amout of time on the dyno I'd be looking at? for reference the car has everything available in their stage 3 package http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ...deStages.shtml
