Default M-Baja?

Just wanted to let all of you Bajamians know that another car company seems to like the Baja concept. Take a look http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...icleId=105633#

Seems that they give the credit to Honda, instead of Suby. Oh well, thats what happens when you don't advertise it!!!! Mike

the baja owes more to the brat and Elcamino then it does to the pickup truck though.

Congratulations to SOA for getting the game going, and then running home as soon as someone else showed up to play.

Pussies!

I read that VW is thinking of doing the Baja thing with the Toureg. Come 2007 Subaru will be the laughing stock when they are the only ones who don't have one. At least we can all say.... told you so.

Cool

How come the more I look at that Mercedes, from that angle, it looks more and more like my Baja?
And how come you are seeing more and more and MORE concept vehicles that look like my Baja?
And why is Subaru ignoring US, more and more, it seems like?
And shouldn't Subaru be advertising the Baja, MORE and MORE and MORE!!
YO!, Subaru, you have the best of all of the concept vehicles out there, and you are selling them right now! Why do you want to KILL this vehicle???
Somebody's making a mistake here!!!
Some people can't see the forest for the trees!
Keep it under 90, folks!

Prediction: Subaru will not kill the Baja but will build it on the Tribeca platform for the next generation.

Subaru should not try and compete in the same price bracket though or the market for the baja is lost. if they start selling them in Tribeca MSRP range then my considerations for it are pretty much done with. the MB version will be for the yuppies who want something for cruising the highway but like the M-Class and all other yuppy SUVs would shatter if it left pavement. hopefully subaru can keep atleast the baja turbo in the 25k zone.

I agree with Filanwizard, a next generation Baja on the Tribeca platform will increase the price. What has not been mentioned about all of the new SUT models from other companies is that they are on bigger truck/SUV platforms! What I like about my Baja is the way it handles! LIKE A CAR! I like the ability to haul things like a truck, but I hate to drive trucks and SUV's! They are top heavy and slow. The Baja sticks to the road like glue. The Baja is still one of a kind in my book. SOA needs to think about what they've really got; and design a new baja on the new outback/legacy style with the new 250 hp engine.

Alittle off topic, but I wish SOA would have done things different from the beginning. they should have had 3 trim levels

I think they should have introduced a Baja Sport pretty much as it is, entry level NA2.5 liter etc.

Then they should have had a Baja outback kinda thing, WIth the 6cyl (should have introduced it with the H6, I think alot more people would have taken it seriously). This would be the high line model.

Then they should have made the turbo a Baja GT, lowered it with a nice stiff suspension, 17 inch wheels and made a really cool sport truck out of it. with the turbo 2.5 and big brakes and yummy stuff.

anyway, we have to pretty much face the fact that the Baja is dead after 06'. And everyone else is going to get the credit when sport utility trucks become popular. The Baja is just ahead of its time, be happy youre lucky enough to know about them and own one. I am!

Hawk296, I second that, a Baja Sport 2.5NA, a Baja H6, and a Baja GT 2.5T. That would be the perfict line up for the baja.
