I've been trying to convince my buddy to do the same, even before I saw this. Hopefully this will persuede him. Forget rotated mounts, this is the future.

2 feet of piping? I would say it's more like 12 counting uppipe, FMIC tubing, and intake. Plus don't forget that most sharp bends are left to the turbo to make. No more 90deg bends in the downpipe, 180 deg bends in the headers and who knows how many bends from the FMIC to the turbo. That is almost a straight pipe with a setup like this. Hopefully they combined this with a ton of head work, hot cams, and a custom intake manifold to compliment it all.

Juding by their past cars (streetable 9 second cars).... this one will most likely be in the same territory. They were the first evo 8 in the 9's... I'm sure they wanna be the PR guys into the 9's.

As for underhood shots.....

WoW so do you think "SomeTime" It would be possible to buy a turbo kit which threw the turbo in that same location, And could they do this and make things work correctly for an amount of time? I am realy interested in this Cars, and the location of the turbo, It would be sick if they could beat the PR guys into the 9`s... I cant wait to see this car`s storie unfold!!! Goood Luck to them all

the turbotix evo doesn't even have windshield wipers does it? ...... streetable, uhm, don't think so. if you want to see a fast "street" trim evo, check w/ Martin and the guys at AMS in Chicago. now that's a full interior and all.

I wonder how the oil return from the turbo works???
Is this unit running a dry sump setup or some king of oil scavenge pump for the turbo???

Yes yes streetable is a relative term. I don't want to get into it but you're right... it's not COMPLETELY street but Jeff HIill's old DSM was... in the 9's with full registration/inspection the week before.. I was there that day many years ago.

yes from 1st gen dsms to their evo8. i believe they were hitting low-mid 10s at the track last year and could only imagine what they've done this year.

weird though, i pass by turbotrix everyday since i work around the corner and have never seen the sti... seen the evo plenty of times there and at etown. time to look at little bit closer!

No offense but Jeff's DSM wasn't any more streetable than Buschur's or Extremes when they ran 9s and 8s. I wouldn't consider a car that struggled to make a 9 second pass and stay together "streetable". And IIRC, he only had one DSM break into the 9s. His white one (at the time).

This argument was hashed out plenty back in the days of the talon digest.

Having tags does not make a car streetable. Slicks and a welded center diff don't either

Nothing against Jeff or his shop, but calling his 9 second cars (DSM at least) streetable is misleading if not flat out false.

This makes me feel good that an idea, I had was also thought of and built.

I think the next cool thing to try would be to remove the intake manifold and have a gigantic TMC that had the intake risers coming out of the end tanks. Stock throttle body would bolt on to one inlet in the center (kind of like the JUN lemon setup but TMIC). This would be allow the IC to serve as the intake plenum. Getting good airlfow to this would be another issue, but the WRC hood vent would be a good start.

Does anyone know exactly what turbo that is? It only looks like a 3" inlet to me

They should stick another turbo on the other side or if you were going to mount a turbo that low why not put it in front ala the rigoli car, that would give you the shortest exh manifold path.
