Default 91 legacy engine

I'm going to go look at a couple 91 legacy engines for a summer swap project later today and i just wanted to make sure they are what i'm looking for.
I have ready a lot in the forums about how the 91-94 legacy engine were really solid engines(closed deck, forged rods/pistons) is that all legacy engines from 91 to 94 or just the legacy turbo engines?
What do i need to look for to see if it is closed deck?
How hard would the wiring be put a 91 ej22 in a 95 ej18?
Is 300 plus giving them my engine too much for a enigne withover 100k?

Help a newbie out.
Thanks,
Ken

Only the 91-94 turbo legacies had closed deck blocks. the normally aspirated 90-94's were open deck.

I haven't done this yet, cuz im doing the same too, but i dont see why the engine wiring harness wouldn't match up to the car. They're the same engines, different sizes and in different models.

--- correction, from what i hear, the engine wiring harness has different plugs to the main harness, but what you can do is use the harness from the 1.8 on the 2.2.

Natoe,
I try...

vica153,
To know that it is a turbo engine, of course you look for the turbo charger on the right side in the engine bay. But if the engine is out of the car, the turbo heads on the passenger side will have a couple of fitting and lines for coolant and oil feed for the turbo. They also have two bungs on the top of the valvecovers, instead of the NA's single PVC bung...
