Trying to source '05 STi Headlamps.
Hi all,
Well, the FAQ's didn't have it, searching has turned up bubkiz. So, I will ask you all (the experts). I have an '04 STi with the silver-chrome headlamps and I would like to have the '05 STi headlamps with the gunmetal-grey. Does anyone know a good source? I am guessing that all I need is the housing and that the HID bulbs and other electronics would just connect up the same. I tried japanparts.com and subaruparts.com as well as fastwrx.com, gruppe-s.com and several other tuner sites but can not seem to find anyone selling '05 HID headlamps. If anyone has a source (other than going to my local Subaru Dealership) please let me know. Thanks in advance!! Jason

I bet Jaime @ SubaruGenuineParts.com can get them. Be prepared to pay out the nose.

If you don't want to paint you should buy a set of WRX headlights and take the black frames out and put them inside the STI headlamps. The frames are the same, only the reflectors are different. The STI headlights are like $1200 new and the WRX ones are ~$350.
