Not to hijack, there has been some talk about this also but I believe its been unclear.. anyway..

With the turbo leg xmember, do you HAVE to use the turbo leg swaybar, or can you use a WRX one? Or does it matter? WRX FSB's seem eaiser to come by..

You can use the WRX or any GC swaybar.
BTW, if anyone is looking for an X-member, I have one for sale. PM me if interested...

I found that the GC (turbo) crossmember has different sway-bar mounts (bushing brackets) from that of a USDM WRX crossmember.

The GC type takes the brackets with one bolt and locking tab, whereas the WRX style is two-bolt or clamp type.

Here’s a pic of the GC-turbo style, on left:

legacy turbo crossmembers fit perfectly on a GC8. sway bar, control arms, rack, everything. I got mine it seems right before the backorder problems.

i'm assuming your talking about the early 90's legacy i hope. Mine is from a 93 specifically.. but as far as i know, 90? to 94 are the same.

I’m still A little confused here. Do i just need the legacy Xmember for my RS-WRX swap, or am I going to require the sway bar and control arms…etc… as well??

thanks for the clarification,
MIKE D

However, you will need to swap sway bars with this xmember because the N/A bars rub on the xmember.

^^^^
Some rub, some don’t…

Mine rubs like crazy and it’s incredibly annoying. I just ordered a WhiteLine WRX/STi JDM GC style 22mm Turbo bar which will solve that problem.

The NA bars rub on the up-pipe hump…

No such thing as a '90 turbo in the states. 91-94.

As for the sway bar mounts, as has been mentioned, just use the right hardware and there are no problems...
