Default Turbonator???

http://www.turbonator.com/index.html?id=adWordsBaja

Anyone heard of this thing? Its a "non-moving vortex generator" that supposedly increases hp and gas mileage. I am pretty darn suspect of it, since it seems way too good to be true, but has anyone heard about it b4? $65 for a 10-30% increase in gas mileage, plus UP TO a 35 hp increase seems insane. Plus, its supposed to install in 5 minutes into your intake. I donno, id love to know if anyone knows about it, or if not the product specifically, about the science involved in what it claims to do. P.S. work for a turbo? they keep comparing it to a supercharger kit.

I got one of those off of eBay for thirty bucks and installed it in my NA Baja.

A saw a 10 percent increase in mpg after one tank of gas and a slight performance gain. No one believes me, but its true.

However, if you are driving an NA Baja using the stock intake, don't get this thing! It needs to go after the air filter in order to do anything at all, so that means putting it in the intake on the TB. But, there is no way to hold it securely in place. Mine moved down and jammed the throttle open! Not fun, and VERY DANGEROUS.

If I could figure out how to keep it from slipping I would put it back in for another try, but until then, no way.

If you have a CAI, you can use it if you want. It should be no problem.

Unfortunately, 1 tank of gas doesnt give any conclusive result. You need a large sample of runs to take a good average to see if your mpg is really going up. Myself my last 3 tanks have been 18.8 mpg, 16.5 mpg and 21.8 mpg; with nothing physical changed on the car there is a 5.3 mpg difference in two weeks. I would not be able to gauge any result from one tank run with this (rather suspect) device.

I have heard mixed results of this product. (meaning some cars it actually works and some that just make it run like crap)

I agree completely, my results aren't worth a damn. I wish I had been able to keep the thing in longer to develop a better data set. Oh well.
