Default Suggest a vacation for me

The Western Carribean cruise we had planned for November isn't going to work out. The travel agent sucks so we've been contemplating cancelling for a while. Combine this with the fact that my wife is pregnant (Carnival won't let her on the boat if she's more than 27 weeks pregnant) and that adds up to no November cruise.

Options suggested so far:

Western Carribean cruise in August instead
Fly to Cozumel and play there
Houseboat on Lake Powell (we do this almost every year)

Try to keep the suggestions to about 1K per person.

Hm, hurricane season. Prices should be cheap, at least.

New Orleans was a blast! Just got back and fell in love w/ the place. Bourbon St. was wild...even on Wed/Thur night.

My parents vacation every year in the Caribbean and they are always told not to go in the summer, because of the 'canes. June-September was my understanding. But, I could be wrong. But, seeing as my folks got a direct hit last year, I don't think I am.

Are you looking for beaches and sun, specifically?

PS...just looked it up....June 1 - Nov 30.

Come to Cheyenne for Frontier Days. I'll rent you out my guest bedroom for just $100 night!

Hawaii is always nice.

Alaskan Cruise in the summer

Go hit up DC

Grand Canyon

Vegas

Go camping in Yellowstone

Go relax in a cabin on a lake in the mountains

Give the money you were going to spend on vacation to charity

Seriously, Doc...the guy is about to give up the next 18 years of his life and you're trying to guilt him into giving up his vacation???

Yes because I'm sure he is seriously considering giving his money to me (I'm my own charity).

I leave for Sandals Negril in Jamaica tomorrow... looks like it'll be raining the whole time..yay.

Sandals in St. Lucia was awesome (go to the Halcyon, it is the best one there, you can get day passes to the other 2 on the island for free).

Pineapple Beach Club in Antigua was awesome, the best beach I have been too. But they are allowing kids now.... bummer.

Sandals in the Bahamas was Okay, it is a bit sprawled out and the staff was not nearly as cool as those in St. Lucia. But it's a good 5 day stay.

You could try Costa Rica. I stopped there on a cruise and it was awesome. Folks went there years ago and loved it.

From Denver it is cheaper to go to Mexico for a week then almost anywhere in the US. I have been to most of the major tourist destinations in Mexico and all are fun in there own way but Moon Palace in Cancun was by far my favorite. It is about 15 miles out of downtown so you’re not locked in to the thick of things. Private beach blah blah.

Check out any of the Palace resorts in Cancun or Playa all are really nice.

Xpuha is also nice but not really close to downtown:

If you hit up DC, talk to me. You could say that I'm "in the loop" for nightlife, no matter what your speed is.
