Default Anybody going camping this weekend?

Hey guys,

Sittin here at work, trying to kill some time, and I was just wondering if anyone here is planning to go camping this weekend, and if so where?

I'm going to little bow, south east of Vulcan, haven't been there before, but I hear it's nice. If you happen to also be there, look for a red 97 outback sport and come say hello (I'm Kyle).

First camp trip of the year for most. May long weekend. I tend to stay away from camping during this time as sites are generally packed. Highways are busy and has the highest accidents during this long weekend.

But hey, not to spoil your camp trip

I prefer going when it's less busy.

I agree Foz, not my fav time to go camping either, but it still beats hanging out in the city!

Also, it seems like we're going to a less well known spot. I say this because not only did I get a reservation on monday (pretty tough for most campgrounds on may long), but I even got another one just this afternoon!

mengy2, enjoy your drive, I know I'll enjoy mine.

I tried to book a golf trip on the long weekend last year in Kananaskis area and it snowed/rained. Blah.

Little Bow is a great place to camp, been there every yr of my life. If you have a boat, try to make it to the spillway at the end of the lake.
Have fun, wish I was there!
More weed pulling and landscaping for me.

Ouch, I feel your pain Diabolical.

Little bow was awesome, weather was perfect. We didn't have access to a boat, but we did drive down to the far end of the lake, to the spillway. The waves are pretty big on that end of the lake. Lots of wind out there.

It's not as nice as the mountains or the badlands, but it's nice and it's pretty low profile, and I hear that kananaskis was dry this weekend. And you can't go camping without beer, so that wasn't even an option.
