Canadian STi Gauge Cluster
I have a 2002 WRX and I ordered a STi cluster from a dealer. I got it and it reads kilometers with mph small on the inside. So I install it thinkng it will just go in like it should. NOPE!!!! The connector on the left side of the cluster has more more pins than it should
Also as soon as I turn on the ignition it starts this high pitched buzzing like the door chime but constant. It popped the fuse for the radio and the abs and rear diff temp lights are on. I know I dont have a rear diff temp. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

I think the problem is not the canadian cluster, it is 05 model sti cluster
It sounds like your problem is that you are running a 2005 cluster in a 02-04 model car. From what I understand this will lead to the buzzer being constantly on and some lights not turning off. The fix to the buzzer problem is to remove it (I don't know how, I have never done it, I remember reading about it several times before though). The radio fuse blowing is something that will happen if you install an 04 or 05 sti cluster in a 02-05 non-sti model car. The fix for this problem is to cut one wire on the harness (again, I don't know which wire, I read about this a long time ago when considering buying a used 2005 sti cluster). I hope that this has been at least somewhat helpful to you.

Do you remember where you read it?? This is a problem with all 05 STi clusters?

Hey brother, I am with you on this one, just put my 05 cluster in and got the buzz and lights.. I have spent all day chasing diagrams and nothing yet... I know we are not the only ones with this issue.. others please chime in if you heard of this and remember what is the fix or where we can find it.

I bought it new and they sent me an 05... that is why it is not plug and play. I am sending it back and they are sending the 04 usdm instead of the 05 can.
I also had them send me the wiring diagram for te 05 sti so i can trace the differences. |

05 cluster IS NOT plug-n-play, only 04. the write up on scoobymods is for a 04 cluster.

we used the wrong part number - as became apparent when you guys received your clusters. I couldnt get straight answers from Subaru regarding which part was which (they just didnt know or understand what we were trying to do here....) so i snagged the vin off of an 04 to sort out the correct part ## (yes i know, why didnt i do that in the first place... coz i didnt know there was an 'issue') i'm just really sorry guys that this took an extra 4-5 days to sort out but very glad that we've GOT IT SORTED shout with questions Jamie www.subiegal.com |

Jamie, if anyone asks you about putting it in, tell them they need to cut wire B28 (B is the middle connector and on the back of it underneath each wire is a very small number) The B28 wire is yellow with a bright green stripe on it, cut it and tape it. That wire is also used for the outside temp sensor install. If anyone asks about hooking that up, there is a write up HERE on how to do it

Does the '04 cluster perform the sweep around like the JDM cluster at startup??
Also, where do i buy the temp sensor or do i use the one from my car? |

The 04 does sweep when you turn on the car. You can get the temp sensor from a local Scooby dealer, I dont know if your stock one would work.
