Default Calgary mini meet on the 26 @ Subaru Calgary BBQ?

Apperently Subaru Calgary is having a BBQ on the 26th (I just got my little invite in the mail). Their invite goes something like this:

"Subaru's Motorsport Technical Director Stewart Hoo will be on location with a Subaru WRX STI rally car to speak with the public about all aspects of the car and Subaru Canada's support and participation of rally racing in Canada.

We will be serving lunch from 11:00 to 19:00

Enter a draw to win Subaru Rally hats and tee shirts. There will also be a limited number of rally posters available. While you are here be sure to check out the entire line of 2005 Subaru's."

I was wondering if us Calgary folks want to have a mini meet at this BBQ.

Post a reply if there is any interest.

it is in the Hearld, the hotdogs and free drinks anyway.

I'm stopping by for "lunch" although I may go and eat somewhere else first. I know what Hotdogs are made from.

went down around 3:00 saw the car. had slicks on the wheels, I guess they aren't going to drive around with gravel tires but it looked funny to me.
i have never felt carbon fibre parts before and these felt like cheap plastic. Is that what it usually feels like?
sweet car though.
ps. i got some free stickers for sale if ya wanna buy em. ;}
gonna stick em on the snowboard

Those weren't really slicks, just worn down proxies. There are road sections to rally's as well.

The plastic feel is the resin. If you were to touch just the carbon, you would likely cut yourself or get a sliver. The Sliver's are very dangerous as they can enter your blood stream and go to your heart and create havoc.

good lord!!! that is a weird property for carbon fibre to have.
is that because carbon is inert and non reactive so our immune system won't reject it from our system? ;]
yeah i knew they weren't actually slicks man, but they might as well of been. no one is rallying with those on any road. one drop of rain and the car would explode simpsons style. lol

The car had a Tarmac setup for Targa NFLD. The tire were Toyo RA1's. As they are allowed only 2 sets of tires for the 2000km of rally, Stewart said these were the tires that gave them maximum grip and durability.

Just got back. Stayed from 4:30-5 and all I saw was Wombat North's car, although I didn't see him.
