Um first I would see if it has any warrenty, second I would check the compression if its possible, third I would inspect every inch of the wiring harness, and finally I would check the timing on the engine. If the wreck damaged the head it may have done more than that like knock off the timing belt or worse cracked the block. You never know man I would just go over every inch of it before commiting!

Ahhh... good ole Foster's auto parts.... or somewhere else? If it's Foster Auto, they are reputable and trustworthy, IMO. Any visible cracks (obviously) and pull the dipstick to check the color of the oil. If it looks like cafe' latte, or anything other than normal, it is contaminated with water or coolant.

The motor situation is a little concerning but overall thatís a good price. Especially considering you get to pull the old harness (which sucks) but will definitely ensure you get all the right portions youíll need if undamaged. Make sure you pull the bulkhead harness with the p-side and behind the IC engine bay cords. And ensure you get the SMJ (both sides) including the entire front wiring harness which runs down the drivers side. Also pull the fuel pump cord although itís not mandatory.

Good luck

Make sure that's not for an STi motor.... That is insulting!
