NOT YELLOW!!!

Default Highest total (accumulated) mileage so far?

Well...

I ran a thread like this back at the end of '03, but I figured I'd try a fresh one rather than bringing the old one back from the dead.

I've had the Baja since Sept. of '02, having gotten mine just a few weeks after they were released. So, in the intervening 32 months, I've racked up a shade over 90,000 miles. Expect to break 100k by the end of the summer.

I'm hoping you might chime in with about how long you've had yours, and any major problems you've had (though much of that has been discussed on other threads).

No major problems here.. had an appetite for brakes for the first 50k or so, but brake wear has been normal since. Other than that, no unexpected problems. Though, I'm convinced the car has a kick me sign on the back, as it's been rear ended no fewer than three times.

Anyway, look forward to hearing others chime in with their Baja's age and total mileage.

Thanks.

2nd Baja...
23k in about a year on our 04.
The tranny chuggles while cruising up slight to moderate inclines. ABS engages at odd times. Drivers mirror cracked and we had to pay for it.

1st baja...
2003, under 12k on it when it bit the dust.

I ran into the 04 Baja with my car. The tailgate was down, puckered it a little. It was my fault as I thought my wife went when she didn't, and I rolled forward into her.

The 03 Baja was totaled from being rearended. An SUV hit her while she was stopped with her blinker on. The SUV was goin 50+mph.

Had 2. First got a turbo 03, but my dad was driving at about 35-40 goin straight when a car made a blind left turn right in front of him. Turns out a truck in the left lane had waved the car in without checking for incoming traffic. Second baja, the one we have now, my dad crashed doing the opposite - making a left turn back into a crowded gas station without looking - it didnt get totalled, think $12,000 in repairs for a new engine. All covered by insurance. Now it has about 22,000 miles on it. Havent had to change the brakes, though theyre squealing a lil, havent even had to change a tire. Theres a lil bit of a jolt at low speeds for 1st to second upshift/downshift, and there are some dings and scratches. Other than that, no problems. Hasnt seen a shop yet.

Bought my 03 in Dec of 04 with 2,800 on it, its now got a shade over 15,000 on it. Found brake fade to be a problem after braking frequently on a trip, otherwise, she's doing good. STILL can't get used to the start up knock though. We've taken a trip to FL and a trip to NC, did very well on the long hauls. We've transported siding, large quantities of plants (complete yard landscaping), a full rear quater for our 73 Mach, multiple other things with no real issues. Even brought a 02 Mustang hood down to Florida with us (JUST fit!!).

I bought my 03 Classic used in April 04. It had 17,000 on it when I bought it. It now has 43,000 miles. Has not seen a dealership yet, except for me cutting the rotors at work at about 23,000 miles. No problems, but it does have a Suby reman trans in it. No info on it, I checked the mySubaru site, and no repairs to it, except a trans park rod recall at 82 miles. I assume that the previous owner blew it up and they wouldn't warranty it. Other than that, NO PROBLEMS so far. Takes a lickin, and keeps on tickin!! Mike

heres probably the lowest so far. We just hit 7,000 on the wifes 05 in a little over 5 months. So far 7,000 flawless miles, just hit 60,000 on the 02 WRX Friday. I wish 06 wasn't going to be the last year of these, because we'd consider getting another Baja when its time to retire the WRX to weekend track duty.

I have had mine since Feb 2004 and have just over 42000 miles on it so far.

So far have only had a minor problem with the Throttel sensor/servo and my transmission keeps over heating and causing it to go into safemode. But other than that, it has bee an ausome car/truck.

Today I was 1 INCH away from hitting a deer at dead center at 40 mph . That would have been an extra problem. Cant wait to get some airhorns or hella supertones to really get them running

I have just over 30k now on an 04 turbo 5 speed, acquired feb of 04. Thats with carpooling and rotating vehicles with another car I have, otherwise it would be a lot more.

problems: electrical system died, replaced that and ECU under warranty, tonneux cover replaced twice already, thats all thats coming to mind at the moment.

Had only 7000 miles on my 04 turbo in the first year. Since I started modding it two months ago another 3000. Its just that much more fun to drive that I go out just for the enjoyment of driving. No problems at all!!

Default My 04 baja Turbo

Picked that vehicle up Feb 2, 2004 - had 300 Miles on it (Had to be driven in from Western PA). I'm now at 50,000. Just stated having a bit of a stalling problem after running at HWY speed for an hour in my commute. Any Thoughts?

Default Great 03 Baja

Mileage update, since I last posted. 46,500 right now, and still no probs. I did replace the rear brake pads last week, but they look like they could have gone to 50,000 with no problems. Fronts still look good, should make it to 60,000. Still have the factory tires on it too, although they will get replaced before winter. Mike

Here is another low one for you. My 2004 turbo that I got in Dec 2003 has just reached the 13,000 mile mark. If it only had the 300HP the STI has.

Close to 24,000 now on ours, no new issues to report (unless you count the little bit to low ground clearance!), but still not used to the start up knock.

My '04 has just clocked over 40K. No real issues other than a busted right front axle (probably my own doing). I replaced all the pads and rotors at about 25K as they were warped and sucky. Some minor mods have had no effect on performance or reliability. Just recently started to develop a wheel bearing noise, too early to tell where it is coming from yet. I'll update as soon as I find it. Otherwise it is my rock, 100 mile round trip a day commuter

31k on a 2006 Turbo... just oil changes and filter replacements.

I had a minor issue with the dealership service department who short filled me after a checkup and oil change prior to a cross country move under load.

Service department this side sucked completely as well... fortunately I found a pretty decent local shop that does work I trust (a bit pricey though).

Been running fine so far- will probably take it in for a full inspection and tuneup at around 50K... but I plan on voiding the warrenty pretty soon anyway.
