I just finished porting my turbo. I went on a drive afterwards and my coolant temp. maxed out after about 10 mins. of easy driving. Everything is back in place except the heat shield, would this cause my temp. gauge to read high.

did you forget to put the coolant hose back onto the turbo? Did you leak alot of coolant when taking taking the turbo off?

I'd bet you have an air bubble in the coolant system.

make sure all the air is out of the system, then after that is done add some more coolant with a nice bottle of water wetter. its a great product and maybe for 60 bucks invest in a low temp thermo
