Angry Its warranty time

Update: A new strut is on order, but its unclear if it will be the exact same part or not

Hey Guys,

Well, after knocking the trunk monkey out and duct taping him to the rear wheel well I've decided that he isn't the one causing the almost perpetual clunking sound coming from the rear end of my car.

I've got it booked into Charles English so hopefully the car will happily clunk for the tech and I'll get at least one new strut.

Any suggestions on ways to deal with Paul?

-J

Straight up.

There has been many and I mean many STI's in Calgary that have had the struts replaced.

Checkout my posts 355 and 360

I had mine replaced last week at Centaur.. i just told them they were clunking and then they went for a road test and confirmed it, its not so bad when its something that is very common on all STi's allthough make sure that anything that is on the cars that you have out on thier gets removed, like wheels, lips, rear diffusers or anything really; just to make sure you dont have a sour experience like i did....

As if! If he was the problem it was because he wasn't drinking on the job.

I had mine done a little while ago up here at Rally. Paul @ Rally has pretty much found a way to make sure this no longer happens. Apparnetly its a number of different things happening that result in the "clunk", not just the struts.

If your guy in Calgary can't solve the problem, have them call Paul @ Rally.

Any idea what all is involved? Any chance at Group-N strut tops being installed on warranty?

Is that a 2005 problem as well? I thought the suspension was different?

Really? most people in that thread that Wombat mentioned have 2004s. Also, Wombat has the first 2004 in Calgary.

yeah its for bolth years, they did revise the struts in the 05 for the increased tire width but they kept the same strut desing.. the ones that they replace onto your car wich are also a differnt desing are said to have the same problem aswell... go figure...
