Default Why a 2.5 Hybrid?

Did some searching didn't turn up anything.

What are the advantages of doing a WRX top/STi block as to getting a complete STi motor. I know it would be cheaper since you retain alot of the WRX parts but are there any performance diffrences when compairing a hybrid 2.5 motor to a complete STi 2.5 motor?

Thanks,

-Matt

the short block is 1400-1700 bucks, total installed is under 3 grand Add in $850 for cams, gaskets, you have it done for under 4k

The STI longblock is thousands more for just the part.
