Nobody but TXS knows when its going to be released and what it will have in the release. There have been a lot of features in the latest beta cycle but not all will be out. I'd guess you should expect temperature correction.

Somebody on wrxhackers was asking recently if he should retune his older map to the last firmware update. Pete replied that he should wait for the new release...

the beta version on wrx hackers had different corrections for each 10c increase (or decrease) in temp. Nathan said that beta version didn't cut the mustard however... Don't know what features we will see in the new firmware...

What was posted on wrx hackers was actually in the alpha stage, it never made it to beta.

With all the other EM out there, gear independant boost control, would fill a nice niche. You don't have to tap lines etc. Why buy another product if the utec can do it? My theory is that if utec doesn't come up with more cool features, people will defect to other EM. I'm starting to see a lot of STI utec for sale. I'm running utec over ecutek, but it's not that clean. The utec is messing with the MAP, it would be cool if it were done in such a way to better compliment ecutek, as STI ecutek users are hurting for more capability (multiple gas maps). The new ecutek products only only flash maps, not allow you to change maps on the fly. With ap, street tuner, and protuner, Cobb sounds more and more like the best overall choice.

That'd also be pretty impossible since the utec doesn't know the a/f ratio at boost. It might do something like the ap, ie - targetting an a/f ratio even though it doesn't know what the a/f ratio is, but I doubt it(course I wouldn't know). What I'm really lookin foward to is a spare solenoid map with duty cycles. I hope they do something about the static timing too, to make it more like ecu timing(flexible dependent on maf voltage, knock or whatever).......

peace

i think you guys mean gear DEPENDANT boost control.

it already doesn't care what gear you're in, and it should for better stability... ref: apexi avcr, etc.

maf based load is my big one. that and a WI map for spare solenoid use.
