Default rim nub: lookin for 17" gold rims...

hey
im lookin to get some rims for the summer, iv been looking at the rota "attack" and "sdr"... cause they r cheap
is rota any good... they have to be able to hold up for years of normal abuse... i dont need racing rims or anything really expense, but something that will not bend or brake if the random pot hole or something pops out of no where...
i like the advan RGII, but they are too expense...
im lookin to spend like max 1500 on rims and tires(depends on what tho)... i want to preferrably buy used cause they r cheaper..
any suggestion on where i should go or on anyone sellin anything similar?

You could get new Rota's and some so-so tires for about $1500. Rota's are about $265 ea these days CAd I think....maybe a little less depending who you get them from. For 17's 215/45 I'd bank on minimum 150/tire. So, all in all that would be about $1600, plus tax. Not bad for new stylins.

Aaron at northern performance is pretty competive for price, but awesome for service. I would go through him again.

Other than that, G5 is a Rota dealer. Then there's Subydude..... he can save you $100 landed over a canadian shop, but you'll have the issues of dealing with customs and shipping, which can be very painful for wheels.

If $1500 is your budget you may be able to find some used 2004 stock STI BBS wheels. They're light and alot stronger than Rota wheels.

I did a search and found this guy selling a set for $900 + shipping. It looks like he is located in AB or BC http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hlight=sti+bbs

enough of the Rota bashing.
I ran Rotas on my integra with twice the power to the wheels that the average 2.5RS puts out at the flywheel, and never had any issues. I ran 18" subzeros on my wagon for 2+ years, once again with no issues.

Rotas are very good wheels. Just because some dumbass broke his during an autoX, doesn't mean that they're not a good wheel.

The STi wheels are great but they aren't any lighter than many of the Rota's of the same size. They call come in around 17lbs. As Hypa says Rota had a bad batch of wheels ages ago and I've never heard issues since then and they are hella cheaper than BBS. That being said, I have STi BBS wheels on my car and love them but I'd have been just as happy with the Rotas.
SPY, you just missed a WICKED by, Topgrinder just sold a set of 17 inch SSR Comp's for $1500 with ToyoT1-S. These wheels are under 14lbs! WICKED!

Max width you can go for is 225 on the GC. You can roll the fenders but depending on the tire you choose and suspension, you might or might not rub. 215 width for a 7/7.5 rim is the best setup.
