Cliff notes: I think wrxevoltion screwed up their site, sold me items cheaper then they intended, and came up with some BS instead of just saying "look, we F-d up"
WRXevolution (3sxperformance) ended up giving me back my money after telling me they had a shopping cart error.
Last week I bought a gauge pod, defi link controller, defi link egt, and defi link boost gauge on their site. These WERE the prices listed on the site when this "sale" was announced:
69.95 gauge pod
99.95 Defi link contoller
99.95 Defi link boost gauge
159.95 Defi link egt gauge
I put all those items in my shopping cart, and tried a cupon code of "Nasioc" which reduced the gauge pod price to 9.95. I put nasioc in the cupon code part of the site on a whim thinking that there might be a break on shipping or something.
The sales total was 369.80 + 14.31 shipping.
A couple days go by, and I get this voice mail on my cell phone. "this is 3sx, can you call us, something is up with our shopping cart"
So I call back thinking they didnt get my creditcard number right or something like that. I left a message, and they called me back.
3sx goes on to explain that "These are not the prices of the gauges, controller, etc..." I explain that they were INDEED the prices listed on the site when I bought the gauges, and that the only odd thing I noticed was the gauge pod discount i got with the Nasioc cupon code.
Then there were a bunch of long, akward moments on the phone with the occasional "well, im looking at the site now, and the boost gauge cost's X, and you only paid Y" .... That pissed me off because obviously when I bought the gauges I paid Y becuase that was the price listed!!! While on the phone, I visited the site and sure enough the prices all had been raised.
Not once was I told "look, we made a mistake, we didn't mean to sell those gauges at those prices, we are really sorry.
Instead I was essentially told, those are not the prices of the gauges, we can't send them to you even though we already have you money.
Looking back on it, this is my guess of what hapened,..
The prices for the Link gauges were the same as the D gauges. when they started their sale, they probably by mistake
updated the Link gauges with D gauge pricing. After getting my order they must have figured out the problem, and changed the Link prices back to what they intended.
I asked for a refund. People make mistakes,.. I understand that. Having worked in retail before, I've mis-priced things. Even though some companies have a policy to honor a listed sale price, I never once asked them to do that. I once bought a TV on amazon for 99 dollars, and they wrote me a letter, explained it was there mistake, and refunded the money. I still do business with amazon.
I probably would have covered the difference had they treated the situation differently. Oh well. I'll buy my gauges somewhere else.
