Default raising seats?

its not that im too short, although i could use a few extra inches ( who couldnt ) , im taking my baja to the performance shop tomorrow, gonna get the seats in the baja raised by about an inch b/c i want to fit a diamond amp underneath each one... has anyone done this or have any thoughts on this? im pretty sure they will have to fab brackets to raise the seats b/c one of the bolts that bolts the seat in is horizontal (right-rear on drivers side, left rear on passenger's), while the other three are vertical. how much should something like this cost?

I think many of us have voiced concern about not having enough head room as it is. I am 5' 11" and I barely have enough head room. If you have the head room to do it more power to you. One thing about sitting higher..... it is more difficult to see the stoplight turn green unless you lean forward.

My two cents..... and worth every penny of it.

It might be cheaper or near the same cost to pick up a set of WRX or power Legacy seats ($250-350 range). Those will allow you to go up from your current position to give you more room under the seat and if you ever take the amp out you can lower the seat back to the stock location.

Good luck and take some picts of the bracket once they are done.

i measured and we have about 2-3/4" of clearance underneath the seats, my amps are both almost 3" thick... gotta leave some breathing room unless you really like overheated amps! how thick are the pg's?

zx 500 rated at 600x1 into 4, runs about at least 600-900 rms into a 2 ohm sub never found accurate info

zx450 measured at about 145 x4 into 4 ohms, running just a front stage rated at 250x 2 into 4 ohm at least 300 I think.

alright, will do, but im a little boozed up right now and it is dark so no pics, but we got an extra inch up; the amps will fit no prob now, just a matter of when i can drop the baja off for a couple of days for the install of everything else... im short (5'7") and the extra inch takes away a lot more than i thought... luckily ( i guess in some respects ) i am not any taller, b/c it would be close to getting uncomfortable... but right now it feels like i gt alift kit.. sitting a lot higher now is nice...
