Default Rear Differential Protection Plate

Anybody had any experience with purchasing/installing the rear differential skid plate? Is it worth while (i.e. is it strong enough to make a difference)? Is it strictly bolt on to pre-exisiting holes or is there drilling involved?

Thanks,.

It looks pretty heavy. From what I seen looking under mine it uses pre-existing bolts/holes to install.
