Default Help me get my car in the air

Can't get the front end up on the ramps due to clearance. Don't have the garage or storage to buy a jack and jack stands (borrowing the ramps). The spare jack doesn't get it high enough to slide a ramp under a wheel. I won't get under the car with some rickety concrete block/2x4 solution my jackass friends suggested.

Soooo, help me out with some ideas... or can I borrow your floor jack for an afternoon this weekend? I just want to do my shifter bushings!

Just use some 2X4's or any scrap wood as a pre-ramp to your ramp.

how close is it, you can have someone lift up the front of the car and slide the ramps under it if you don't need more than an inch or two.

Rhino ramps have a nice subtle slope to them. If that don't work, like biltmore said, use some 2x4's as pre-ramps.

Books and catalogs also make nice pre-ramps.

If you have no garage, chances are you don't have spare 2x4's laying around, either.

Have garage . . . two floorjacks and four jackstands. Let me know if you need the use of any of them.

Be specific, they need to be old college text books, preferably O-chem or math.

Nah. . . Sometimes I post a lot, sometimes I don't. Good luck with the bushing install.
