Default Fastest '05 Legacy GT in the 1/4 mile...

Hi All,

Trying to find out who has the fastest 1/4 ET for a 05MY legacy GT? Any input would be appreciated.

Reason being, I believe I hold the record at 13.187 @ 104.48.

Stock vf40
Stock weight
18" rims
KB short shifter
Perrin DP
TXS UP
NFP Custom cat-back
HKS EVC4 @ 1.1 bar
UTEC on stock map
NFP Custom FMIC

Everything else is stock.

Thanks!

I would scan the slip but the scanner is in storage and I'm lazy... here's the best slip. I backed up that run with a 13.198 @ 103.85 as well...

Best so far:

I know a certain Outback XT that has you beat. There are also a few LGT's TopSpeed is tuning that have you beat.

Someone around here is getting his LGT ready for some serious competition.

The guy has had it for 2 weeks, and is already planning on getting TONS of mods as soon as he finds a shop.

I am far far ahead of you there bud. Read my post on LegacyGT.com. Though I dont waste my time with drag racing, I would rather take the car to an Auto-X or Track event.

Thus your car is not "faster" unless you go out and beat his time.

lol, no need to roll the eyes shaggy. If you can, go beat that time at the track. I'd like to see what your car can do in the 1/4 mile... but like mw02 said, no time slip, no time.

Still would like to know what those other cars have done. I'd be happy even with the fastest legacy in the country with stock vf40.

Well that's usually how the entire auto industry measures the acceleration abilities and power of a vehicle (0-60mph, 1/4 times), so I think I'll stick with it... not into wasting my time on a drift or auto-x course

What has been acomplished? Have you seen what I have done? I have broken ALOT of ground for LGT owners. And anyone with half a brain can figure out who's LGT is faster.

Sorry I dont feel the need to take my car to a drag strip. I have no intrest in doing so, as it is not challanging enough. Anyone can go fast in a straight line. I like to Auto-X or do track events, that takes real skill.

And I disagree with their use of it, too.

Because manufacturers want low 0-60 times, they screw around with the gear ratios so you won't have to shift to 3rd until 60 MPH. This, I believe, hinders cars to a degree.

Also, I wouldn't call auto-x a waste of time. It is a far superior test of a car's abilities than to make it go in a straight line as fast as possible. Drift, on the other hand, would be incredibly difficult in a Subaru. Also, I believe that drift is a good test of driver skill. Still not my idea of fun, but that's because I haven't tried it yet.

Have fun with your Legacy on the 1/4 mile. That's really just a waste of many of a Subaru's potential......

[/rant]

Sorry for that, I just hate when people think that the 1/4 mile is the only test of a car's abilities. I think it is a pretty cool motorsport, and it requires alot of skill to do well, but I believe that going in a straight line is not what these cars were built for.

Edit: I believe a more accurate title for this thread would have been 'Fastest Legacy GT in the 1/4'......

Matt,

Anybody can have a 300 whp legacy GT. It takes skill and ability to drive that 300whp car in a straight line to get good 1/4 E/T numbers. If you think your can do better than 13.1, do it. Otherwise, you don't have an ET and thus are not proven to have the fastest Legacy in the 1/4 mile. Simple logic bud.

Here's an example to help you through this: If I have a 2000rwhp Supra, and it runs 10's in the 1/4, it's not the fastest Supra in the country. Because that one runs 7's. Do you see, it's not the power that matters, it's how you use it. lol. I know you've said that a lot.

Get off the high horse and post some times or get at the bottom of the 1/4 slip list with 1/4 Time=N/A.

NOW, SOMEONE PLEASE tell me more about those other cars... otherwise I'll still have to consider this car the quickest in the 1/4.

I agree, I assumed 1/4 would be thought of when I posed the question. Title changed... I will enjoy my status for as long as it lasts. You guys have fun at auto-x.

Take care.

Hey loose the attitude dude. I edited my post quite a bit because I didnt want to come off the wrong way, or come off like I was making a personal attack (as you have just done towards me).

Wow you are special, you have a FMIC on a stock turboed car. Woopie. I have covered more ground with my car then you probably ever will, and I am not even close to being finished. I have tried things that people said were not possible and I made it happen.

And if you think that drag racing requires more skill than Auto-X, then you really are as norrow minded as you come off to be.

This is the lamest thread ever...move it to power bragging and see how all your claims hold up. There will always be someone with a better, faster, more interesting, more groundbreaking car so give it up. This is supposed to be a board where we share ideas and information and promote the betterment of our cars, not try to bring other people down.
Grow up kids!

True. I almost forgot about that forum. I don't go there much, so......

I tried to put my post more as an attack against the 1/4 mile in general than any one person.

Never mind the "mine is bigger than yours". Post your timing slips. Standing 1/4's are an industry standard, get over it.

And I hate that the industry uses it. I already pointed that out.

Get over it.

I'm done here.

Besides, my Legacy is slow as $#!&, and I don't need a 1/4 mile timeslip to tell me that. But it DOES handle brilliantly. That's why I love it so much.
