Default **56K** This weeks 2 Details : 04 Black Wagon & 02 Yellow Sedan

Busy week this week!

First, on thurs, while you were parting hard @ P & L, I was taking care of Ryan (maxwellpolish) 04 black WRX Wagon. It had light swirls, a few dealer installed swirls, but was in pretty much good shape.

Here's the proces/products used:
Meguiars #9 Swirl Mark Remover with a Meguiars Cutting pad
Meguiars NXT Tech wax with a grey finishing pad
Engine degreased with a 1:10 Solution of Simply Green
Exhuast was cleaned with glass cleaner and steele wool
Wheels got NXT by hand
tires got Meguiars Hot Shine, applied to a terrycloth applicator, applied and buffed dry for a less "wet and greasy" look. The trim in the engine bay got this same process.

It started drizzling almost immedietly after drying the car, so we had to emply his garage and pull her in to finish there.

Ryan was a super nice guy, with a super nice harley. He had a great basic knowledge base of detailing 101, and I gave him alot more info. . .

Enough talk . .on to the pics:

Now onto today.

I went over to Scooby Coupe's place to do a interior/exterior on his uber rare Blaze Yellow 02 Sedan. His car was in very good condition when I got there. He had even vacumed the inside recently! Dave is one of the nicest and most polite people I've ever met. It was truely a pleasure to meet him and chat with him!

His Blaze yellow showed some signs of, in my opinion, fadeing on the plastic parts (hood scoop, mirrors, spoiler, bumpers) due to what I think it faulty prep from the factory. I've seen a handful of Blaze yellows, even detailed one last summer (with Bwana but we both forgot our cameras that day) and they have all suffered from this fate. I did the best I could with them, and I was able to get the fade out, but the color just won't match 100%)

Process:
Clayed with Mothers Clay Bar (due to the # of bugs on the front end - he lives in a fairly rural area with lots of bugs)
Paint cleaned with Klasse's All In One with a white pad
Meguiars NXT with a grey finishin pad
The hood scoop, mirrors and spoiler got Meguiars DACP to help get that fade outta there.
Tires, per Dave's request, were very low shine. . .cleaned with Aerospace 303, buffed with a terry cloth and shined with a Microfiber towel.
Interior plastic, also per Dave's request wasn't dressed, and a damp MF towel followed by a dry one did the trick.
Windows inside got Stoners Glass Cleaner
Engine got 1:10 SG
Wheels got NXT by hand

Monther nature waited for me to finish buffing and taking pics before she let down a HUGE downpoor on us. . .it was perfect timing!

Enough talk, on to the pics:

David - what is a good wheel cleaning product? I'm afraid all the spray-on hose-off ones are too harsh

All the spray on ones are harsh, but the key is to have cold wheels and to not leave it on the wheel for more than 30 seconds. Spray on, aggitate and then rinse. Repeat with next wheel. repeat. . .repeat.
