Default Ideas for more power with same turbo, engine

I am wondering if I am overlooking any potential power adders -- however modest -- from my roadmap. VF-34 and 2.0L stay for now. Intake, TMIC, and headers to be upgraded. Am undecided on water injection. My current setup:
1. VF-34, pinks, walbro
2. Y hoses
3. stock intake <-- to be upgraded; probably filter + silencer delete
4. stock TMIC <-- to be upgaded; probably Helix
5. stock headers <-- to be upgraded; probaby Fujitsubo
6. full 3" TBE (MadDad DP w/ cat, 3CE, Borla hush). Cat stays.
7. underdrive pulley

What else, without changing the turbo or upgrading engine components? Lightened driveshaft, lighter wheels. Other ideas?

Nickel and dime stuff man. You are at the end of the line. NOS, Big turbo or new motor. There you have it.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Just wondering if I can cobble enough of them together (e.g., throttle body coolant bypass -- during the summer at least, etc.) to get 4 or 5 whp.

The port & polish mods (e.g., knife edge on the throttle body) are spooling, not power, focused, right?

I should drop the VF-34 and put in a SBR-12... but I would rather spend $2,500 now rounding out the stage 4 setup than jumping to $4,000+ on the big turbo... but maybe I should just bite the bullet...

colder spark plugs, grounding system, lightened flywheel(stay away from aluminum; forged chromoly, or billet steel).
dont get underdrive pulley only a lightened one, i had a unorthodox underdrive and i got cel flashes too often, so i got an agency power, although perrin is another good choice.
utec, ecutec..etc
aluminum radiator
ported throttle body
magnus motorsports intake manifold
perrin turbo inlet hose
better oil cooler

im sure there is more you could do.

4EAT. No flywheel (or... just not the same, and not upgradeable)

Been running an underdrive pulley for 16 months, so far so good.

Need to stay stock for the integrated ATF cooler/warmer. But good idea. Hadn't thought of that.

Is that a power adding or spool improvement mod?

I would say water or alchahol injection. Approx 20+ hp depending on your tune.

Yeah, I just need to decide whether I'm up to it on a daily driver.

what is 4EAT, some type of auto trans?-unfamiliar territory

magnus motorsprts claims pretty decent power gains, it is also $1K ouch!

perrin inlet hose; definetly spool improvement

ported throttle body; small power improvement

what underdrive pulley are you using? our cars are so tempermental!

definetly power gain by getting thermal coating or wrap on exhaust parts, header, uppipe, downpipe

water injection is pretty neat, a guy on vivid racing has done this and raves about it.

colder thermostat ie. zero sports

since you are stuck on keeping cats, check out QTP (quick time performance) electric cutout for your downpipe. at the flip of a switch, exhaust exits before cat if you only have 1. if you have both cats in downpipe it would exit after first cat. about 1o hp gain so iv'e heard. you can buy a kit for what ever size pipe your downpipe is and cutting tool and welder you can fab your own.

Yeah, need to port the throttle body. 4EAT is the auto version -- 4 speed electronic controlled auto.

I've been running the Vishnu underdrive pulley.

I have the 2d Aquamist system on my wrx, other than refilling the resivoir every three fuel stops, it is maintenance free. It lowers my EGT's greatly upon activation and I'm sure that it is the reason that I have not already toasted my engine I will never run another high-performance engine without w/i whether it's forced air or N/A.

Your biggest blocks for making more power right now are your:
Stock airbox (in your post you still haven't upgraded the filter or deleted the silencer).
Stock TMIC only cools and flows so much, not to mention pressure drop and heat soak.

Make the car breath better, in and out, and you will unleash the power potential of the car.

Other than the things others have already listed I have nothing else to add.

hey scooterforever you can geta new torque converter. that will help you with your tranny and get more power to the wheels. i had a 4EAT RS and i was thinking of upgrading mine. but i got a WRX instead. go to protorque.com they custom build one for your car.

Sorry, I left out my tranny mods. My tranny is pretty heavily built up, short of a full race tranny from IPT. I have a ProTorque high stall speed converter, a LevelTen valvebody (so far no problems [crosses fingers]), a 40,000 lb towing capacity ATF cooler, and an ATF temp gauge.

Oh sure. 4-5 whp is definitly possile. 20-30 is kinda stretching though. Can you feel 5whp? Good luck man. Sounds like a fun car.

water/alky is fine on a daily driver. If anything I would think it increases reliability cuz it supresses the hell out of detonation and lowers egt's. I have a 3 gallon fuel cell in the trunk with alk/water and I went 2 months before filling it up. It still had almost a gallon in the tank at that point. You should really look into it. It doesn't have to be that expensive. I have a 2 stage setup that is controlled by pressure switches. I have about 400 bux into it, that is including the price of the fuel cell.
