Default HID retrofit in a MY02

Hi all,

I have an 02 WRX Bugeye. I purchased Hella Bi-Xenon E-Spec HID projectors and shrouds with Hella Ballasts and 4300K Phillips bulbs. I want to retrofit the projectors in the bugeye headlamps. I have an idea how to do it but I figured I will post here to find out if someone had done it already and can give me some tips.

Also, is it recommended to use a harness to bring the power to the ballasts directly from the battery? Or can I simply replace the stock fuse to support the higher current draw at the ballast startup?

Ohh BTW, I'm in Canada. I don't think the cops here are really anal about HID's.

Thanks

Depending on the particular ballast you may not need to change the fuse value. You should however directly ground the ballast negatives and not use the low beam switched grounds to power them.
Although you may not have a problem with HIDs up there remember that this will eliminate your DRLs (and you should disconnect the module when installing HIDs) which are required in Canada.
