Default SPT exhaust for BD legacy gt

Hey does anyone have the SPT exhaust for their 97-99 Legacy GT? I just picked up a 98' GT limited and love it. I want it a little louder, but not too much. Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust? How do you like it?

here are some pics of it with my RS.

Nice car matt

I'm sure some of the regulars will chime in here, but I'm fairly sure that you can use the impreza catback of your choice.

Nope, you really can't use an impreza catback. Routing and hangers are different.

I have the SPT exhaust on my wagon. Right now it is paired with Borla headers and a 2.25" resonated Stromung midpipe. It sounds really nice. Pretty subtle when cruising and idle sounds pretty much stock. However, when getting on it and also on decel it is pretty grumbly. The muffler on it's own isn't going to add much volume at all.

Also, I bought mine used. If you are looking at spending the money on a new one, I would suggest getting a custom built catback instead. I got mine for only $125, so I went with it.

Thanks for the info, I have a stromung on my RS, and was thinking about getting the same for the legacy. I didnt want to go all out on the legacy, just give it that nice rumble ive gotten used to on my RS.

If you can wait a few months, maybe you'd be interested in my Brullen Catback?

It has a real nice rumble, but I will probably be going to a 3" Turbo catback once my swap is done.

I personally think it is about in the middle. Maybe a hair toward loud. My wife doesn't like it.

It is definately a deep rumbly exhaust though. It sounds like something that should be mounted to a car that is much faster than it really is.

I did notice a nice increase in power especially in the higher rpm range, where the stock system just seems to choke.
