Default Edelbrock SDT Muffler ok?

I've been looking for a while for a new muffler that doesn't look so much like a fart can, but isn't going to sound harsh. I've looked at Borla's "Boomer" series, as well as their Turbo Mufflers (just wanna buy a tip for it), but I've been afraid that I'll still end up with an exteremely loud exhaust.

Right now, I have a full exhaust: Borla EJ22 Header, 2.25" headerback exhaust, high flow cat, Ractive Carbon Fiber Muffler with the slant cut tip. The sheer sound is just too much. A friend of mine can hear my exhaust echoing off of walls and such while I'm tailing him through the city or on the interstate...this is over his WRX's HKS Hi-Power Catback.

This brings me to my point. I'm looking for a muffler that will flow air well, but still yet keep the sound down, especially when I'm at WOT. I've found Edelbrock's SDT Mufflers, but they are recommended for V8 engines on Summit's website. EDL-55741 is the Summit Part number for the 2.25" center inlet/center outlet model that I'm looking at. Will this work on my car with no ill effects? If it's not good for my little EJ22, is there even a preformance muffler that won't deafen pedestrians as I pass them?

Just use a stock STI muffler. It has 2.25" piping, and flows well, and is quiet even if you dont have a resonator in the midpipe.

problem is I don't have flanges anymore to put on the SPT muffler. I only have the Header/catpipe flange now and the rest is solid pipe. Plus, Finding someone with an SPT muffler that'll give it up for a decent price (as it's attacted to the axelback) is also a problem.
